After being able to digest the finale and the show overall I give it a 8/10. Those last few episodes almost lost me but the finale was well done. This nikka Naz had me almost hoping his dumbass got convicted. Getting tats and smuggling drugs in:upsetfavre:.

I realized though that was one of the points of the show was to give us that realism. Dude had to do what he had to do to survive in there or he wouldn't have even made it through the trial.

I don't know if the next season with them going after dude will be that interesting.

So was the point of this to show that your life is ruined once you're in the system regardless of whether you're innocent or not?
Maybe. HIS particular situation tho... He's done for! fukk the drugs and trauma and whatever else he may have going on... he'll forever be that muslim white girl murderer in NYC. Unless he finds a way to hit the reset button on life and can start over sonewhere else. But the likelihood of that shyt :francis:

I thought this was a solid show.... It's whole point was to show that the justice system s a flawed system ran by flawed people. The lazy police work/ the investigating, the politics in front and behind the scenes, the prison system creating criminals, etc. Even the naive innocent young defense lawyer was corrupted by the system by end of the show.

The writers gave you a faux happy ending on purpose It's like they are poking fun at all those shows and movies that revolve around law procedurals.

I dont knoe...seems like Naz was always that person..just took that experience to set him free..he was already popping...he was selling...he had a violent streak....he was not the innocent kid he was portrayed to be in the first episode....its messed up he got hooked to that dope though. His life will be a junkie and he will most likely end up back in jail.

6-6 split is just too hard to believe.

Not really when you consider that naz didn't even know himself if he did it. It's like when he's sat there by the water at the end he's trying to figure out if he could have done it. No one else knew about the accountant apart from Box and the DA, so he has to carry it round with him the rest of his life, unless they did go after the accountant which it looked like they might at the end

yea like that officer shows the D.A. that it wasn't Naz and she says "we have more evidence with Naz than him" Lazy work... They don't care if you did it or not it's about winning and losing with them..

I did too.

I dont think crehs understood what the show is about. The criminal justice system corrupts everyone. Makes cops and prosecutors attempt to convict an innocent man. Turns an innocent man into a criminal. Can destroy a lawyer's career. And it damages families.

A lot of the crehs wanted a "whodunit" or something like True Detective season one when this show was never about that.

Saying all of that, they did a terrible job with Chandra's character. I believed the love angle. Her bringing the rocks for Naz was completely unbelievable.
Two things caused this show to not come off as great as it could have. One was I think it could've definitely used at least two more episodes. I think they needed to add more depth to Chandra slowly falling for Naz to build up more to her smuggling in the drugs. With the way it happened it just seemed overnight that she would risk her career and livelihood.

The second was that they needed to do a better job explaining how much time had passed throughout the show. The transformations that occurred makes a whole lot more sense if it was over the course of like a year compared to a month or two.

i do agree with that.

SHow the weather changing or make a mention about winter to make it clear that time has changed.

And yeah, showing Chandra's descent would have made more sense.

Saying that, I really think this was a great show and I think most of the criticisms revolve around people thinking this was True Detective Season One.
