The show needs better characters. Not one in the pilot got me wanting to watch a second episode. A good tv show needs good characters. This show has zero.

I gave up on Empire after the pilot, then went back and watched it when the season was done cause it was still being hyped. I might do the same with this show if I hear it got better and the hype stays through the whole season. But I just didn't see anything last night that made me want to see more.

What pilot episode knocked it out of the park though except for the Dexter reveal? WTF Married With Children didn't set the world on fire in that first episode..nor did Fresh Prince

Yea, dudes in this thread are capping something serious. For an HBO show this shyt is no where a quality show as Silicon Valley or Entourage. I don't know what these guys are seeing that got them so hyped? A few nude girls? Is that all it takes to get ya'll hyped? Please don't sticky this shyt mods. I swear it ain't gonna last 2 seasons. Not with these cardboard characters and plot straight out of Any Given Sunday and Jerry Maguire. Proof that you can feed Americans shyt and tell them its chocolate and they will gladly eat that shyt up.

Here's the thing... I think Ballers might be "good". Any by that I mean nikkas (in the most general sense) will like it.

I just think that in terms of what's actually considered good comedy these days, from laugh a minute stuff to smart satire (ranging from Kimmy Schmidt to Veep) it's not going to be a "good" show.

Again, probably just over-analyzing lol

wasnt the fresh prince pilot the one where will was playing the piano at the end? if so, i'd say that was a knock out of the park cuz thats actually one of my favorite episodes

True detective was ass but ik its goin to get better Like the first season. Its ppl who gave up on the wire after�after the first 3 eps or during season 2 .

Game of Thrones had arguably one of the best first episodes in recent TV. Jamie pushing Bran out the window and the episode ending in a cliff hanger had everyone checking for the next episode.
