Episode was :ld:

Then again the first two episodes of "Veep" was weak then by the end of season 1 it was :banderas:
Even if you BELIEVE the first episode wasn't the GREATEST EPISODE OF ALL TIME..don't forget how many episodes it took for Spartacus to get hot..

They're gonna need an Ari Gold or Johnny Drama character in order for this to survive.

Not in the sense of a copy of those guys, but in the sense of a character that has the audience like :krs::gladbron::mjlol: every time they're on the screen. We're expecting ridiculousness and fukkery, so I hope it delivers without worrying about the critics. Right now, it's looking like Denzel's son is gonna be the closest to that.

Through one episode, Survivor's Remorse > Ballers

Nah they don't. Ol'boy that played Ari took it to another level. The writing on this show is way better than that hot trash known as entourage. I really don't understand the comparisons at all. Entourage was about a movie star and his entourage. Whereas this show is about a group of football players in various stages of their careers. :manny:

Marky Mark is involved. But watching the show itself, no I don't see the similarities. :manny:

Yes Wahlberg on HBO in a 30 minute comedy about guys who will find themselves in :krs: situations with celebs, groupies, and big money that the average man could only dream about. Obviously it's not the exact same premise as Entourage, but it's clearly going after that crowd. Get used to the comparisons, cuz they ain't going anywhere.

So when he was out of money at the end, was that directly related to the 300k check? or is he just living past his means at this point?

Also, that 300k check was not smart, friends. That guy didn't give him the handshake. Bad business. Guy isn't appreciative and Spencer should've said "Hold up brother, I'm gonna need that check back."

it's because of the check. he mentions it during the conversation with his former agent when he comes up with the retarded plan in the first place.

rock: i'm gonna loan him 300k and sign him as a client :myman:

agent: :merchant: :whoa::what::comeon::dwillhuh: you don't got that kind of money :beli::shaq2:

because both are primarily male wish fulfillment shows. we're watching to catch a glimpse of the lifestyle :yeshrug:

Basically. Put Entourage and Arliss in a blender, place it in Miami and you get the premise for Ballers.

i must be missing something or yall are just excited for a football show. the acting is subpar, the dialog was whomp, dudes are playing every stereotype (tho football players are usually walking sterotypes), the actors aren't charismatic/there isnt a charismatic character....maybe this will change, but after the first ep, this isn't immediate watch status for me...

Yea, dudes in this thread are capping something serious. For an HBO show this shyt is no where a quality show as Silicon Valley or Entourage. I don't know what these guys are seeing that got them so hyped? A few nude girls? Is that all it takes to get ya'll hyped? Please don't sticky this shyt mods. I swear it ain't gonna last 2 seasons. Not with these cardboard characters and plot straight out of Any Given Sunday and Jerry Maguire. Proof that you can feed Americans shyt and tell them its chocolate and they will gladly eat that shyt up.
