Some of his "classics" could have been better to me, but he is one of the goats to me. Inside man was amazing. Haven't seen all new stuff. He's better than Lee Daneils.

I like Spike Lee but my opinion is bigger budgets because we seen his genius with Inside Man. He never had a budget as big. Another difference is talent. He needs more talented people. Fresh blood and some different screenwriters possibly. Inside Man had a lot of talent and not just acting. As I enter my second life and working on my synopsis for my first screenplay (I won't direct this one), I pay attention to credits especially cinematographers, music supervisors, film composers and editors. All that stuff is an art.

probably would be better as a TV director now. He should come up with a series based on the neighborhood in "Do the Right Thing" or atmosphere of "She's Got Tto Have It" or the club in "Mo Better Blues". I think those kind of series with young up and coming minority actors would work today...
