It's not hard to understand it just doesn't make sense. What's "gender oppression" in a society where race trump's gender? Who's been more oppressed, white women or black men?

Rid yourself of this question. Of course nothing anyone on earth has gone through compares to the slave trade. However, does that fact prevent you from empathizing with Holocaust victims? It shouldn't...That's the problem...you are focusing more on the "who has it worse?" and not on "why do ANY of us have to deal with it?"

Women are targeted in some of the most insidious ways. For instance, up until recently rape was literally considered part of war. Totally acceptable in most cases until basically the Geneva Convention. Workplace discrimination in more than just wages. Just look at all the bullshyt going on with Fox News, Ailes and Bill O' Riley. That's shyt that's been going on for decades. Or perhaps even the fact that a room full of MEN sat around and decided to defund Planned Parenthood. A org that is used by in large by women for MUCH more than abortions (sexual health and education, check ups, seminars etc.)

The key is empathy, breh. And too often brother like you sound like you aren't really on the side of equality (or equity to be more accurate) but like some one who just wants their shot at supremacy.

So, because men are naturally physically stronger than women...then:

- this is a "privilege"?
- we are physically and sexually "safer" than women??

I mean technically it is and its true that we are less at risk when it comes to assault.

Its not about amounts its about the ubiquity of certain levels of oppression. Black men are hella oppressed because of the racist regime of western society. Women (who are traditionally held black in most developed nations as a whole) have certain forms of oppression. Black women have to deal with not only racial oppression but also gender oppression...

How is that hard for you to understand? :rudy:

So Black men don't have to deal with gender oppression??

Nope, not like black women. Our oppression stems from our racial background and most of our sexual stereotypes and over-sexualization comes from slavery era tropes that were byproducts of that racial bigotry.

Black men are usually not targeted for the SOLE reason that we are male. We are targeted usually for the combination of being Black AND male.

Black women can be targeted for all three reasons of being black, female, AND Black/Female.

So really, @Gravity is correct, and you think Black women "have it worse" than Black men
even though was goin' extra saying to stop talmbat who "has it worse".

AND, you don't think Men go through "gender oppression"?

No, you're focusing on who has it worse because you're cosigning black feminists and their lie that black women have it worse than black men. Then when we check you on that lie, you hide your hands and say "this ain't about who has it worse". If it's not about who has it worse then denounce black feminism and their untrue talking point that black women have it worse than black men.
why do yall even go back and forth with retards? :russ:
Because the "retards" have been empowered by the people who's aim is to keep us dysfunctional. Letting this shot go unchecked is a big reason why we're here in the first place.

It's not true, though...there are many levels to "assualt".

We aren't "safe" from a gottdamn thing out here...

Relatively speaking when it comes to 'physical' assault we are alot safer than most women are thats the point.

Think about it, whos naturally better equipped to fend for them self during a physical assault you or the average woman?

Black men are doing a terrible job of being "shielded from violence" if thats our so-called privilege

Black men being Black men means we are seen as the biggest threats to White society and thus the first to experience violence

No we're not. Go look at the stats on victims of violent crime and there's no doubt that black men are at the top of the list. There are more black men killed in one major city like Chicago/Baltimore than black women are killed in all states combined. You are a lot more likely to be physically assaulted or killed as a black man than you would be as a black woman. You people have really been miseducated.

Allow me to rephrase so you understand me.

YOUR postulation of "Black men have it worse." inhibits you from looking at other forms of oppression objectively. Which I why I posed that statement. Is who has it worse even important? ...no.

Do I personally think black women have it worse socially? Yup. There are much more things that effect black women that are beyond their control. Not to mention standards of desirability are much easier for black males to obtain than black women. As well as being subject to many of the same threats of violence as black men.

Earlier you said "race trumps gender" Well, I'd say the prison industrial complex trumps lack of access quality food/health care.

Should we ignore one issue because the other is "bigger" or "more important"?

I don't understand how you guys can't be motivated to end oppression in ALL its forms. Especially when so much of it involves our sisters.

Let me clarify_ men are safer from women than women are from men.
Men. Not specifically BM. Total men./total women

Men are more likely to be physically or sexually assaulted by other men.

Are BM safer overall? Of course not.
