Hate to say it but Star Wars is the most overrated movie since MOS.

dont get me wrong it was a dope movie and I will go check it out again this weekend BUT, it literally felt like one long ass extended trailer. The same questions people had going in remains. Except for one plot twist everything else was predictable. This was probably the first time spoilers, trailer reviews and speculation overshadowed the movie itself. All this movie did really is get me hype for the "real" story in episode 8.

The spoilers and speculation on the plot made watching it meh. It got you excited for 2017 but other than the major twist with Kylo Ren you pretty much knew how shyt was gonna play out. The ending could've been a dope moment if people didn't leak so much. The trailers spoiled some key moments as well. It's just an odd time we live in. That's why I said the trailers, and speculation overshadowed the movie itself. It wasn't a bad movie but it felt like a long ass trailer because most of the questions I had going in are still unanswered. In fact I have more questions.

Id watch it again over the hateful eight, no QT hate, i just now found out that movie came out and im like ehh, idk if i can stomach 3 hours in a theatre with his take one spaghetti westerns, dont get me wrong django was cool but the rest of his "homages" to the genre fall flat to the actual movies

But yeah Force Wakens is just an soft reboot and updated version of a New hope and has zero standout scenes or memorable sequences or lines and is getting praised on nostalgia and apparently being better than the prequels that "weren't Star Wars", even though Lucas created the damn thing and those movies

The acting from the new characters was better than the prequels.

But overall though I think most blockbuster movies get overshadowed by prerelease trailers, spoilers and overall hype.

TFA has settled at a 8/10 for me as of now.

It's a soft reboot, apparently you need to actually read a damn novel to fill in the plot holes they left (no jokes apparently this is true), the soundtrack was nothing special ( John Williams I hate it had to be you ), and they dropped the ball in several areas where they could have made the existing story better.

Basically JJ left a ton on Rians plate when it comes to episode 8, but it's Star Wars so I give it an 8 or a high 7 after nostalgia factor wore off.

Yeah that's the ironic thing. This is being praised as being Star Wars. Well damn I hope so it's a soft reboot of the original
