I keep a low Caesar or bald fade for work. I wear
A helmet most days so easier to fit under

If you had braids past '10, you were damn near considered dusty. Jim Jones didn't help. We're back to the early 00's when it comes to hair. Everything goes in cycles.
OP is almost 10 years late. All the black men from my gen started this back in high school with the Chicago wave now everyone has dreads, locs or twists.
i own a barbershop....we used to charge 30 but we charge 35-40 easy now. I'm in LA. There's barbers out there charging 50+ now man. Even nikkas growing their hair are getting the sides tapered....thats like $25
Juicy J look dusty. He need to chop that off
Young black men weren't having dreads before chief keef started having them. If you're around my age, you'd see the shift pre-Chicago movement - post-chicago movement.Chicago itself was late to the dread scene so I’m not sure what this means.

I'm not just talking about a few people having them, I'm talking about most people having them. If you pull up a random video of young black boys or men now, you'll find a much higher percentage of them with locs or twists. I couldn't do the same with such high percentage before that.idk what you talking about but New Jersey, Washington DC, Florida, Atlanta and the Bay Area had young men rocking dreads way before Chicago.

I been bought clippers and Andis t-outliners. Paid about $100 for both but I've got over 10 years of usage out of both. I use to go to the barbershop every blue moon to support my homie but when his prices went from $20 to $35 I couldn't justify it.This deserves a platform for discussion. These cut prices have gotten ridiculous. For what I was paying a dub for a decade ago is $45 out here in Dallas. When I moved from Huntsville, AL, barbers bumped prices from $25 to $35. I don’t understand it
Like 2010 this was looked at as the standard
Then around the midway point of the decade it became this(2015)
Now it seems like this is the present(2021)
Sorry to all the bald folks. I mean no disrespect.
Nvr grew my hair out but literally out of my friend group only three of us has low cuts. Everyone else has a fro, the jimmy butker, dreads, locks, or freeforns
Chill lolI had dreads for over 15 years down to my damn hamstrings, and never once heard anyone distinguish between "dreads" and "locks" the way you just did
