Had them same problems when I was growing my locs (ended up cutting them cuz maintenance is a bytch).

I love it my parents from DR so me n my sisters especially got a lot of shyt for rocking our natural hair. My son hair been long forever they tried to give him shyt on the wrestling team for it but i was always in the cut like " you cacs touch his hair and im throwing chairs" especially after breh made the news for having to cut his dreads mid match .

I cut my hair once a year, curly fro most of the time with those curly hair smoothies put into my hair.

Rest of the year...too damn hot for all the hair, plus I got that 4c, tight coil plus zig zag pattern. 3 inches of hair is like 8+ uncoiled. Shyt is ridiculous.
