Because of corona I think. By the time barbers were back, some people had enough hair to get these little braids

I use to keep it short to appear groomed and 'acceptable"
as a youngin looking to network and get his foot in the door but hey, if a grown ass man can walk into the office with a dress and lipstick on and be applauded by these cacs I ain't bouta hear any babble about my lions mane being unprofessional

OP is almost 10 years late. All the black men from my gen started this back in high school with the Chicago wave now everyone has dreads, locs or twists.

We kinda always grew our hair out. Just in my lifetime we went from afro to jherri curls to flattops to AI braids to dreads to that shyt Odell Beckham had to dreads again to box braids now.
