THEREFORE you get to make anything up and believe in it because it seems like something you want to be true?
One of my biggest issues with modern organized religion is the lack of willingness to hear other sides of an argument.

For this reason any many more, I always tell people: Whatever it is you need to do to keep from being a jerk to your fellow man or shooting up a school or anything like that DO IT. Most of it is not for me, but a lot of it i can vibe with, doing good things for others, being selfless, all that good stuff. It makes you feel good. So in that case, yeah do that shyt. As far as the the nature of all things? If you got the answers homie, lay it on us, but I don't and I don't pretend to. I'm just giving you my POV. It is by no means the rule of thumb or the grand answer.

Hell some people meditate and all they do is feel relaxed. That's why you never tell anyone what to feel per se because they'll be searching for shyt that's either not there or not for them. But the benefits will still be there, lower blood pressure, better mental health and better aspects of physical well being as per the article in the OP.

I keep saying I'm going to do it for real, but I never do. I really should get back on it.

I don't practice the positions or anything but, you could be deep breathing right now. It's just catching yourself doing nothing and saying "hey, lets take some deep breathes"

I just started receiving the benefits from this. I feel more connected to my internal body and more open.

fair...but you are just substituting some ideas in lieu of others.

Just be comfortable with saying "i don't know" and you'll find it remarkably easy to go about your day without weighing your brain down with shyt that "seems plausible" but isn't proven.

if its true, it'll be found.

Highly recommended for beginners. Her explanations are clear and explains plenty of benefits she and her students over the years have experienced.

Great...another person who watched a few neil degrasse tyson vids ...sprinkles in some half assed understanding of physics and now thinks SOME OTHER deity is more plausible.

Why are you guys so hung up on believing in shyt? I mean seriously.

is it that hard to get you guys just to STOP doing that and focus on whether or not such a thing exists, much less that you should even acknowledge it?

You are an annoying poster breh.

so what is astro projection? do u believe in that?

It's some shyt where people train themselves to have out of body experiences and shyt. It's all anecdotal. I've never discussed the subject with any other people irl who i talk this sort of stuff with because I don't really care about it.

i guess the idea is that all anecdotal things aren't real? ?

And I'm interested in it, but wouldn't have the dedication it would take to unlock shyt and do it. It seems like something people who meditate a lot would at least try.

Meh, it always just seems to me like you could go for something like lucid dreaming and get similar results. If astral projection was real and you could somehow move your spirit the world would be a disaster. Conmen would train in it and steal people's bank accounts and shyt. I just think it's bullshyt i guess.

so this is BS as well?
In the early 1980’s practitioners trained in the art of meditation were placed at various trouble spots throughout the Middle East. With clockwork-like precision, each time the practitioners began their meditation which focused on the feeling of peace, crimes against humanity dropped, emergency room visits declined and traffic accidents went down. Statistics reversed each time the meditations ended. This happened with such regularity that those conducting the experiments were able to calculate the minimum number of people meditating on peace, needed to effect a change in a community, or the world. The number is surprisingly small: the square root of 1% of any population.

Yeah that sounds like bullshyt to me :russ: not meditation but the claim that meditation in some roundabout way decreases population violence without significant participation.

There's probably no greater example as to how that might be straight bullshyt other than the Shaolin Temple. It was attacked, crushed and rebuilt.... And no amount of prayer or meditation saved monks in tibet or martial artists during the Cultural Revolution.. Meditation is great stuff but it can't save the world or even every human spirit individually

feels good man, keeps me chill and focused as i go into the work and clinic and shyt. as it relates to martial stuff, that's kinda complicated but feel free to ask me to explain in the martial thread. it's a pretty specific answer.
