Listen...I agree that COULD happen...there are two sides to the coin though

too many people in here are looking at this thing black and white as if it's all going to fall into place for one team or the other...more than likely that's not going to happen

the most realistic scenario is that this trade is just kind of blah and neither team greatly benefits

the most likely scenario is some of the things here will work out and others will not work out

but no one here wants to admit that...it's either Martin will re-invigorate his career, Lamb is going to be a 20 ppg guy, the Thunder will draft an all-star with the Raptors pick, and Harden is going to be exposed

OR

Martin is bum, Lamb is overrated, the pick won't work out, and Harden will beast

isn't it more likely that Martin isn't great, Lamb turns out decent, Presti does a great job with the pick, and Harden is nice upgrade for Houston but overpaid due to him not being a max contract level talent?

I just think it's very naive of people to act like this trade is going to swing massively in favor of one team or the other when it's a trade with so many IFs and question marks

Folk aren't naive, they know the variables surrounding this shyt. Don't think you're one step ahead with your thinking. Cause you aint. Every single trade is done at a potential-view. shyt is never absolute. And you aint slick by trying to squeeze in your agenda in the midst of acting like you viewing shyt from both sides objectively. It's transparent as day.

Both the Thunder FO and Harden weren't gonna budge in terms of money, it was in the Thunder's best interest to act accordingly and deal him before shyt hit the fan. A team would've offered him the max in the FA and the Thunder would've let him walk for NOTHING. This way the Thunder made sure nothing of that nature was gonna happen and got back potential-assests in exchange. That right there's MASSIVELY swinging in Thunder's favor - taking a risk on TWO first round picks and one second round pick, a near equal scorer to Harden and a potential up-and-coming player > letting Harden walk for NOTHING. That was the reality of the situation, there was always gonna be a team out there that was gonna offer him the max and Thunder were never gonna match. They acted swiftly and got it done before the season started to maximise chemistry-issues.

Why you and others can't see that the Thunder did the best thing possible..... I'll never know.

I really get the feeling that what Ibaka showed during the preseason made it easier for Presti to pull this move.

I honestly think both parties will be fine in the end.

whatever man...I honestly have spent more time on this than I care to

lol @ my agenda...lol...what's my agenda?...I'm trying to spin this as the Rockets won because they're my team even when I've stated numerous times in this exact thread I don't like the team for either team but believe Presti will turn those trades into good picks because he's a good GM and that will ultimately be a better look for the Thunder long term?

what agenda am I pushing?...you're seeing ghosts in the night...I'm stating my opinion like everyone else in this thread...and I'm pointing out places I think people are wrong...like everyone else in this thread

yet I have some hidden agenda?...you just want to argue on this topic forever...I've heard your case...I disagree for the many reasons I've already stated...and I'm not changing my mind and neither are you...so why the hell do you keep quoting me over and over and over again to say the same got damn things over and over and over again?

And you're not? You keep coming in here, perplexed by folks comments and feel the need to tell them the same shyt you said prior in the thread. You keep saying dumb shyt, imma keep calling you out for that dumb shyt. What I'm saying is the reality of the situation, not once have you said ANYTHING to outweigh the argument of the Thunder doing the best thing possible in this situation. You just tryna spin shyt to make it seem like one team didn't get the better end of the deal, when reality says different.

Like I said before - That right there's MASSIVELY swinging in Thunder's favor - taking a risk on TWO first round picks and one second round pick, an equal scorer to Harden and a potential up-and-coming player > letting Harden walk for NOTHING.

That there's the reality of it all. Period.

only player on the thunder WHO SHOULD have been complaining about minutes is serge ibaka. his per 36 numbers is insane if he actually gotten minutes.

Problem is, he can't stay on the floor for 36 minutes though. He got exposed defensively several times by both Brooks and his spanish coach in the olympics. Dude is all flash defensively, he doesnt guard the pick and roll well, hes terrible at staying infront of his man and doesnt box out. One of the most overrated defenders in the league actually. What ill give him is that hes gotten better at not commiting too many easy fouls. His rookie season he was 5+ fouls per 36 mins. Dude was a foul machine for his first two years basically.

Theres a reason why he was on the bench for heavy minutes both in OKC and spain in 4th quarters.
