OKC didn't learn from Dallas and the Chandler fiasco. :scusthov:

Different situation. The Mavs didn't want to keep all those guys they let walk because they wanted cap space to go after Williams & Howard. OKC offered Harden a fair deal to stay but he just wanted the max.

Harden's always been suspect to me, but I know for a facet he's a much better player than Kevin Martin. Okc also had this thing called chemistry going which can't be underestimated. Lamb might be good, but potential is good for a four or five seed, when your a true contender, you don't want be dealing with maybes. In the long term this is a great deal, but nothing is guaranteed in the nba. Thunder are gambling imo.

I might peep Rockets games now. Its gonna be interesting to see what Harden does now that he's the main guy on a franchise. :lolbron:

no nikka i watched the games. your dumbass said he gonna play the same role on the thunder as he did on the rockets.... explain to me how hes gonna put up the most shots and avg the most points for the thunder? and tell me how do we know martins potential on a team with durant and westbrook caliber players?

I dont agree with you that he was the main option in houston last season. he took ill-advised shot. he was a volume scorer and a very bad one. like i said, if you watch te games, you understand. words and stats boxes dont tell teh whole story. which is my issue with what you saying.

Mchale hated the guy. he jacked shots in spite of the team chemsitry and flow of the offense. he wasnt the main option like you he is first options take shots at the end of the game. he didnt do that.

he's a much better player and a lot better at the role they're going to try to substitute Martin into

we're just going in circles here...but fine

you believe he'll be fine as a number three...I don't...his biggest problem last year was an unwilligness to play in the flow of the offense so he launched up ill-advised shots and came across as someone just trying to get his numbers

he wasn't a good shooter...he couldn't create his own shots...and he only ended up with the most shots on the team because he was a no account chucker that stopped the offensive flow and bogged down the game when he felt like he wasn't getting enough looks

I think in OKC he'll do the same things and end up frustrating his teammates and eventually be relegated to insignificant minutes and ultimately just be an expiring contract to the Thunder and not a number three

so, as I said...I disagree with your assessment that he'll fine as a third option...we will see...games start next week...maybe he falls in line with OKC and regains his lost touch and becomes very productive...that would aggravate the hell out of me because he's been so awful and ineffective for my squad...but it's not out of the realm of possibility...I just don't see him doing that...not from what I've seen of him.

it was a power struggle with him in houston and the inability to see any change for the better for his team; i think he's smart enough to know that, that won't be the case playing with westbrook and durant. hell learn to accept his role as he'll see there'll be greater benefits. thats why he ended up with the most shots and points. he simply won't be the 'chucker' in okc like he was in houston. the only reason you think he was awful in houston is because there was no benefit coming from his role. which was all part of the reason he put up the amount of shots he did, because there really wasn't anybody else to actually carry that team out of the gutter.

I'm not a big fan of Harden as a max player, but this makes me feel better.

We can get one more max player next summer. Housotn going look real good after this season aif we can get one more star.

Said it once, and I'll say it again to all the haters.

In Morey we trust.

:heh:

short term, the big winner is Denver. Downgrading from Harden to Martin and having to rely on 2 rookies that while talented, their hallmark is frustrating inconsistency will push the Nuggets closer to them in the standings. Long term, OKC made out well because if Perruh and Lamb pan out, it's NBA Moneyball.

Morey... :laff: Morey is proof that from a $$$ standpoint, Harden did the right thing.

McHale's probably happier he got Cole Aldrich in the trade.

you edited your post, i saw what you wrote prior.

My first post in the original 'James Harden turns down 52 million dollar extension wants MAX thread'

He will get the MAX from another team. There are not that many talented SGs in the league. He has leverage because Kobe is about to retire soon, Dwade is going to slow down in a couple of years. The SG position is going through attrition and teams need instant offense and that is what he provides. I always felt that Harden is being used to come of the bench to lessen his value when his contract is up. That will now work any more. He is a legit 25 ppg scorer if he gets starter minutes and more touches. NBA executives know this.

Unedited and unadulterated

Coli brehs...please dap and +rep your breh one more time. Real nikka :salute:
