I know he's from the area and all, but his stand-up routine never did too much for me. And I stopped watching his tv show midway through the first season. I saw enough of that character growing up. Plus I had a child with a girl from his hood, and I was hating on those knuckleheads he acted like, that grew up around her. But in reality, like Martin's character, nobody in PG wanted to be a punk. That's the imagine Martin took to the screen, and blew it up.
I don't think the Martin-Gina combination ever works out in real life. Mine short didn't, which was years before his show aired. Not that I acted like Martin, but she made me feel like the man, while she was short, cute, shapely, humble, and very feminine. She had the school teacher mother, and policeman father setup. You know what comes with that...whatever it is, at least it ain't from the streets.
I didn't start watching Martin's show until I downloaded KODI, several years after I moved to Atlanta. That's when I realized how many laughs I really missed back then. But when Martin was out, although I had a sweet girl back then, more humble than Gina, she was all the way from Cameroon, and I she didn't relate to the Quiet Storm a lot, and she would call most of our R&R love music, sad sounding, especially our music from the 70's. Her character was very much like George Foreman's second wife, in "Big George Foreman". Yeah, I guess I f**ed up, but hey hey
. And I was tapping a girl on the side who was very much like Pam, but a little meaner. However she wasn't quite as mean as She neh neh, and she was always smiling. How can you be living in the ghetto, and never stop smiling. Anyway, she was a heavy Martin show fan, which didn't surprise me
. But she loved the Quiet Storm music. That's how it goes
