Everyone gotta stop being prisoner of moment after one game. I thought niccas learned they lessons from stories like Cassell, Kolb, Flynn, etc. Hell Flynn last year came in and had one of the greatest games in NFL history, did shyt that neither Favre or Rodgers did, does that mean GB should've benched Rodgers?? I mean we going off one game right? And he outplayed not a mediocre QB, but an elite QB...... Some say the best in the league

rodgers has proved everything he could have over a large body of work

alex smith was garbage before harbaugh got here, and is not having a great year, despite inflated stats from buffalo and az games

harbaugh made alex into a respectable qb from a bum, so if harbaugh feels kaep is ready to start, I dont see what the problem is

I agree, one game is not a lot and things can change. but if the coach who is responsible for both alex and kaep makes a choice, you go with it.

especially since it looks like he's the best coach we've had since Bill. yep, ive said it

Ehh, I trust Harbaugh but can't say i`m a big fan of the decision.

6 games left to go in the season, teams will get a good look at Kaep and if we make the playoffs he might hit a rough patch at the worst time.

Lets hope the kid is the franchise QB he looked like on MMF.

You know what! :why:

I can't even defend that inflated stats comment..... But with that said... Those years that New England had that garbage ass division destroying the likes of the Jets, Bills, and Dolphins (lets be real, they been about as bad as the west teams if not worse) is it fair to say those too were garbage stats?

Brady putting up 400 yrds multi TD games vs 2-4 win teams

my point is that last year if harbs decided to bench alex for kaep, Id have more of a problem with it

you realize the 49ers in wins were never behind by more than a field goal this year?

both times we were behind by a possession we took Ls. in the third game we got a tie with kaep on the field.

our defense is also not as good as last year, even though statistically it looks great (again, mostly beating up on awful offensive teams ie az with skelton, chi with cutler, jets, etc.)

alex is a good qb for preserving and building on leads, hes not a good qb for coming back when defense is struggling. he showed that he could do it last year, but this year the league did a bit of gameplanning, and he can't. once TEs on wheel routes get locked down, he cant pass downfield.

it makes all sense in the world to try kaep right now and evaluate him, especially since it seems the locker room stands behind him. alex is due for 12 milly in april and if we cut him we dont take the hit. and the hit is huge for a team that already is nearing salary cap hell

I swear man, this is a classic example of bein prisonner of the moment Kaep has only started 1 game. 1 game. Y'all gotta look at the fact that even tho the Saints have a marginal defense, they will prepare and game plan for Kaep. And obviously its in NO where its loud as hell. Alex is battle tested, in playoff game atmospheres. If Kaep fuccs up on Sunday, Harbaugh is gonna look silly.

:russ: @ troy smith

"Bu-bu-but he's better than Alex!" This bum ass nicca prolly couldn't even take Blaine G's position in Jax, hell probably would be 3rd on line on the Jets, matter fact ie this bum ass dude even still in the league holding a clipboard?

Also, since Alex is so bad or hold WR's back, how are B. Lloyd and J. Morgan doing this year? Are they like top 5 WR's since they are with superior QB's? Cuz their lack of success was always just Alex's fault right? Yea, them nicca "gotta be ballin" on some Jerry Rice and Tim Brown shyt :dwillhuh: :steviej:

I still think troy Smith is better than alex but he's not a franchise qb

put it in perspective- it wasn't too long ago that niner fans were calling for alex's head chanting "WE WANT CARR!!!" and now people really think harbs is making a huge mistake benching alex for a more talented QB in kaep. that's how great of a coach harbaugh is.

besides it's not like our offensive philosophy is gonna drastically change. we're gonna do what we've already been doing with a balanced offense except now we can be even more versatile in the passing game with kaep running the show.

and thats the thing. harbaugh is the one who stood behind alex all the time and kept him from getting booed yet again.

put it like this, if you dont at least trust harbs in doing the right thing at this point, then I dont know...

question-what will you consider a 'fukkup'
costly turnovers ?

he can play shytty but defense can win the game (which happened to alex a few times too)
or he can play well but defense can lose the game....

what will be an acceptable criteria for kaep for you ? please formulate that and then ask if you had the same criteria for alex...
