They are allowing it to not be canon so they can just tell a story and not have to worry about dumb shyt when they make more games.

After 343 Guilty Spark you’re alone for the final 4 missions(almost half the campaign). N the majority of of that mission is alone till the final escape from the facility.

i guess you could argue there’s technically Echo-419 at the end of The Maw too, but you never see her since her Pelicans gets shot down at the end.

the 2nd half of CE is def an entirely different tone of isolation, horror, and fear. I agree with you that the first half isnt alone. Its very buddy buddy oo raw before the plot twist on Spark.

In the grand scheme of things that was a very small part of Halo lore. It’s always been about a huge battle between the humans and the covenant.

It was you n purple hologram lady fighting Covenant/Flood solo with zero backup.

there was no ship for extraction. There was no comms with the rest of the UNSC forces to help you on the rescue mission.

after you rip out Keyes implants for the Pillar of Autumns codes, Cortana follows up with, “We need to get back to the Pillar of Autumn. Lets go back to the shuttle bay and find a ride.” Then you take a banshee to get back to the PoA crash site.

Both levels were also reused from the beginning, you can see the change in atmosphere/tone playing them back to back


Go play Pillar of Autumn, then play The Maw.

go play Truth and Rec, then play Keyes.

the only point of UNSC contact you have for the last 4 levels infected Keyes(who isnt even with you, n who is dead by the time you reach him), then a radio evac request to Foehammer during the final warthog run. She never makes it to you, you have to carry along solo as you been doin the last several levels.

Could be good I guess. I mainly played Halo for MP so I couldn’t give you plot points for most the titles if I tried.

hopefully this can create traction and exposure for a proper big budget halo movie by the end of the decade.
