It's between The 1st Holloween and the 1st Nightmare on Elmstreet. "Friday The 13th" 1 is still Classic even though Jason was only a kid in it cause it was such a shock ending that the Mom was the killer. I was scared of all 3 as a child of the 80's. Michael was just scary cause he was always around the corner. Jason was scary cause like Michael he was also always around the corner but it seemed like people could run a mile in the woods and Jason would be right there. I don't know any kid from the 80's who wasn't shook of Fredy by the time they went to bed. But out of the three. Freddy had the best charisma cause he actually talked. Freddy also had the most creative kills.

I think Freddy was the best character. I also don't agree with the New Nightmare on Elmstreet Molester storyline. It was at best implied in the originals but never made official. They jumped off a cliff with that remake and most Nightmare on Elm Street fans do not consider that film cannon. Friday the 13 Remake was wack too. "Halloween" remake had it's moments but Rob Zombie tried to hard to give psychological reasons behind Michael's craziness. Overall these are the 3 most iconic horror characters ever. Pinhead is a Legend too but the "Hellraiser" movies got terrible after the 1st one honestly. Jigsaw is a Legend too but "Saw" started to get ridiculous after about the 3rd one. Leatherface should get an honorable mention also as well as Candyman.

Overall every horror series starts to fall off outside of the 1st few movies. As for the "Is Halloween 3 good or not" debate. As I child of the 80's that movie still had me shook. Was it corny without Michael? sure but let's not act like those mask were creepy in that movie, lol. Every series had really wack movies. "Jason X" in space was so terrible I don't know who approved that. I never like "Nightmare on Elm Street II" it just felt off. But I did like 3,4 and a New Nightmare. Halloween was only good in the 1st two movies. H20 was forced as well as Resurrection. So in conclusion I would say:

Freddy >>>>>>>> Michael >>>>>>>> Jason

The Goat Scary Music goes to Michael Myers, Candyman and Jigsaw

JAson X? The one where he was in the future on a space ship? You are joking right?
And that Friday the 13th remake was a steaming pile of shyt that was just as bad as the horrible Nightmare and Halloween remakes.

Jason X is awesome, my third favorite in the series. It had dope, inventive kills, gave the series a fresh take with a different setting and was obviously made be a fan of the series. I loved that it didn't take it self seriously either. Was it cheesy and poorly acted? Of course, but it was a Friday the 13th movie

The only problem with Jason X is it looked like it was filmed by the Sci-fi channel.

:whoa:

The 2nd "Hellraiser" is better than the first. The series started to fall off in 3, took a nose dive in 4, and hasn't recovered since then.

it took me a while to appreciate hellraiser, i was too much into the other franchises and flicks. But it came a time where I enjoyed the story and adventure with the concept of it all.

who own the rights to HRaiser? Im surprised this hasn't been remade yet?

Dimension still owns it. They've tried to remake it twice, once with Pascal Laugier the director of "Martyrs" back in '09, then again in '11 with Patrick Lussier the director of "Drive Angry".

They have no idea what to do with the franchise. It's not a simple remake like "Elm Street" or "Halloween", where it's a guy running around killing people in cool ways. The series has certain rules, mythologies, etc. Pinhead is alot more philosophical and he can only kill people who summon him, and even then they have to know what they're doing, so it doesn't translate well into a teen slasher flick.
