I think there was a pretty good tread on this even before all the Laker trades but anyways the Dream just spoke out:

"That's the dilemma the league has to balance to make sure each team at least has the opportunity to have a superstar and has the opportunity to be a championship contender. That's the goal of every team, but now the quality of players, true franchise players, is less than what it was."

Jordan was Jordan.

They missed Horace. That steal wouldn't have been null and void if they had a PF that year. There wouldn't have been a close game.

It was more than the steal, He tired at the end of games and didn't have his same explosiveness as before. He committed way more turnovers and couldn't close games like he was used to in the past.

Yeah...because he had to do MORE with the missing player. LOL @ putting on some act about him not having the same explosiveness as before.

I'm sorry one regular season game does not trump what happened in the orlando series.

Nick Anderson (the guy who guarded him) even said he wasn't the same player as before. I'm not sure what else you want more than a first hand account of someone who guarded him.

*shrugs*

Jordan couldn't close games 1 or 6, and that was the difference. 96 Jordan closes those games, 95 Jordan doesn't

I don't recall Nick saying that. But Ho Grant not being there was a bigger issue than Jordan being so called tired.

I say he was tired out from having to do more.

Jordan closes 1 and 6 if a PF was there to lessen the load on him.

Nick said it, that's why Jordan went back to 23.

Ho grant not being there was HUGE, but Jordan not having his condition was also HUGE. I'm not going to downplay 1 for the other. The bulls couldn't match up, Pippen had to guard grant, and Armstrong had to guard penny and he got killed all series. Bulls still had a chance to win, but jordan couldn't close games 1 or 6

Saw it live.

Bulls couldn't score in the last 4 minutes of game 6 after having a 6-8 point lead. Jordan said it really helped him train for the summer not being able to close that game out on HC in which they lost the series with him failing at the end.

Hakeem is one of my favorites and he can say what he wants, but I like the way the NBA is now.

From what I can tell with my eyes, the league has been watered down for years where you have 1 really good player on the team and the rest are average or bummy and they never really go anywhere (Tracey McGrady on the Rockets, KG on the Wolves and so on).

It's really good to see teams who are multi talented with a roster from A-Z. Even though it would never happen, the league needs to cut down to half the size that it already is and get more of this.

this. I like the league better the way it is now. Although I would have preferred if Dwight had instead gone to the Nets to join up with Williams and Joe Johnson, just so Miami and Boston could actually have some legit talent to sweat about while Chicago recovers/retools and while the Knicks try and get their shyt together for once. I felt Nash was a good enough upgrade for LA.

But yea, I used to hate how all the big superstar matchups were basically just formalities in the form of regular season games because even if a prime TMAC was able to pull an AI and get his shytty Orlando team to the finals against Kobe... that shyt wasn't gonna be competitive. It'd be a sweep or a 5 game series like it was when AI did it. Same with BDiddy, Marbury, VC, Pierce, Francis, etc. Never liked it when great talent is just wasting away on an island of mediocrity, and I felt the same way in recent years about Nash, CP3, and DWill. Couldn't care less if it happens in a big market or small market team like (I assume) OKC.

In fact, soon after Miami's big 3 happened, I was hoping Orlando would find some way to snag CP3 so that him, Dwight and all their 3 point shooters could get :violent: w/ MIA, Bos and the nice surprise that was Chicago.
