Saw it live.

Bulls couldn't score in the last 4 minutes of game 6 after having a 6-8 point lead. Jordan said it really helped him train for the summer not being able to close that game out on HC in which they lost the series with him failing at the end.

How old were you?

10-11 both years.

Now this will be the part where i'm told i wasn't old enough to possibly remember those series.

No....you were young enough not to even see shyt that way as you're claiming now.

This thread is a strong illustration as to why I prefer to avoid talking basketball with 20 year-olds.
Kids here are actually saying that MJ was the same in 1995 after 2 years away from the game... and they have the stats to prove it (as usual) :pachaha:

"rusty" Jordan 1995 playoffs
31.5/6.5/4.5 /2.3 steals/1.4 blocks on 57% T/S

"back to his old self" Jordan 1996 Playoffs

30.7/4.9/4.1/1.4/0.3 on a 56% T/S

:russ: better across the board and more efficient then the 96',97,98' Playoffs

:pachaha:

I love when dudes try to pull that "he wasn't himself" excuse out regarding that comeback year.

That nikka just got GOT by a better squad in ORL.

"oh he scored 55 against NY...b-b-b-but he just wasnt the same, still"

"Ohh, he hit a GW shot against ATL in ATL....b-b-b-b-but he just wasnt the same"

:mindblown: how we continue to have the same argument with nobody budging and/or admitting that BOTH of these things played a factor?

1. The Bulls were a weaker team and badly in need of an inside presence for Defense and Rebounding without Grant. Once they got Rodman, an even better Defender and Rebounder, they dominated again and this time, moreso than they ever did with Grant.

AND

2. Michael Jordan was absolutely NOT the same player after returning from baseball. Did he still have the same ability? Sure. He is Michael Jordan. He didn't forget how to ball in that year and a half absence but his conditioning, which he prided himself on, was not the same and he was fatigued late in games and not closing the way he was accustomed to. Having to shoulder more of the load defensively and make up for what the team lacked was a huge factor in this, as was conditioning.

WHY can't both of these be true? WHY is it one or the other? I dont get it :heh:

I hate when people try to discredit the Rockets run with this bullshyt. No one would have beat them those 2 years.

I mean didn't Jordan play or not? the answer is yes, so I don't understand why these people try to justify it as if he didn't play. They won 55 games without him which means the support cast got better. There was no excuse for him to lose other then I just got beat by a better team

that the hakeem/pip/barkley rockets shouldn't have been in the NBA.

the jordan was "tired" nonsense.

continue to push your agenda.

What agenda? Them nikkas was old, there's no denying that.

they were old, look at their ages

1998-99 Houston Rockets Roster and Statistics | Basketball-Reference.com

Akeem was 36, Chuck was 35 and pippen was 33 with a bad back. I'm not pushing an agenda just facts.

Jordan even admitted he worn down in the orlando series, Nick Anderson said the same thing.

Just because you can't accept it doesn't mean i'm pushing an agenda

My comments are totally separate from the rockets...not discrediting them or disrespecting what they accomplished.

My comments pertain to the bulls/magic series.

And no....winning 55 games absolutely does not mean the supporting cast got better bc they didn't even win 50 gms in 95 when MJ returned.

Aside from the turnovers, Jordan was Jordan in the postseason absolutely no rust. People just can't accept that he lost a series, so they make up excuses and cop pleas. There wasn't much better he could've played in that series, they just lost to a better team

Oh so we can brush the turnovers aside like they don't count? :leostare:

Rust or fatigue didn't play any part in that right? :usure:
