Been listening to alot of old Zenglen recently (the 1999 - 2005 years)

when I was younger, Gracia Delva was like Michael Jackson to me.... top 5 voices ever.

& Maestro Richie is my favorite songwriter ever.

So nostalgic.... Our music is so underrated.
I use to stay singing this song and it got me in so much trouble with my Gran.:mjlol:..:blessed:

I felt the same way when I was in Panama and seen how popular Tambou Combo was.

Oh yeah. Among older Panamanians Tabou is like god!

even here in Atlanta or in Miami if Tabou does a show you’re guaranteed to see a pack of Panamanians representing.

How is the Haitian population in Atlanta?

Wyclef was there too. :ehh:

Farrakhan was as usual speaking the truth. :ehh:

I don't think the people was feelin him tho :francis:
Haitians, especially the younger generations would not know who he is. Remember language barrier is a just that. A barrier. I was 21 y/o living in the U.S. for 5+ years and didn’t know who Farrakhan was. :manny:

Fair enough. But I was hoping the words would hit them harder. :francis:

I'm seeing that words are not enough. Or they've heard that too many times before. :francis:

Above the fray.
Translation was meh but pretty accurate. I cant say i wouldnt have done a better job. At leas the avoided the cardinal sin some make: Trying t translate english to kreyol word for word. You gotta translate the expression. Goes for all languages.
Prefer literal translations.
I laugh loudly when I see translators botch or lazily attempt to repeat what somebody is saying.

I posted an episode of an Islander cooking show before. Chef/host was Haitian, the other host was from English speaking island.

Taste-the-Islands-Season-2-768x512.jpg

Funniest part to me

host 2"how do I say that 'this food is amazing' in Kreyol ?"
host 1 "li bon" (it's good)

Wait, what?

Interesting.:ohhh:
I went to middle school with a Thybulle back in Haiti in the early 90s. I wonder if they’re related because that’s not a very common name in Haiti.
Tho the one I knew is dead. Idiot shot himself in the head while showing off to his friends one night.:francis: At least that was the story I was told in school when he died but it was from a reliable source. Never liked homie (a bit of a bully) but that’s a hard way to go.:sadcam:
