Will watch later, but pretty accurate translating so far. I've seen people translate for Ministers before in English and Kreyol....and generally it's rough.

How recent was this?
Translation was meh but pretty accurate. I cant say i wouldnt have done a better job. At leas the avoided the cardinal sin some make: Trying t translate english to kreyol word for word. You gotta translate the expression. Goes for all languages.

I got much love for Ayiti, the first black republic in history!

Kompa music, I feel very irie. Listening to those chorus-guitar sounds takes me on a trance. A tropical one!

A lot of it reminds me of Congolese music. Especially the instrumental parts

I got some Haitian friends. We family. They put me on the culture, slangs, history.

I'll have to pay me a visit. RT

We all family bro.... We proud Africans!

Haiti is an African nation, outside the continent.

After the revolution, King Henri was raiding European slave ships and granting citizenship to freed Africans, so there are many of us that have direct pure African ancestry.

Our music is probably our greatest export.... you can hear the African influence all over the song structures, the melodies, the drums etc etc etc

I can see some common stuff but still very different. Then again i grew up with and love kompa while I been into heavy into soukouss maybe for the past 18 years now since i met my senegalese homeboy who put me on. :ohlawd:

For the brehs that dont know Congolese music is by far the most popular genre in Africa. All that afrobeat shyt you hear that are just now making waves in america dont come near Soukouss in terms of popularity. Their shyt straight up dominates the whole continent and you'll see why once you get into it. :wow:
Like Fally Ipupa is my dude!:whoo: Quartier Latin :ohlawd: Koffi Olomide :blessed: Extra Musica :jawalrus:

Older folks from Congo, Benin, Senegal, Cote D'ivoire etc.. love Coupé Cloué

:blessed:

Breh I told you all the story when I went to ivory coast in 2018 me and my Ivorian homeboy Joel were in this packed club and everybody was chilling. It was the day before New Year’s Eve.

Then the DJ switched from whatever he was playing before to Coupe Cloué “Myan myan” and all the sudden the club erupted like every man grabbed his woman to go dance.

i cried when I saw this shyt with my own eyes Brehs. I tried to hold back the tears but couldn’t :mjcry:

Watching Africans from all over the francophone Africa (Ivory Coast, Benin, Togo, Burkina Fasso, etc) singing Haitian music from Alan Cave and Tabou who’s lyrics they don’t even fully understand but they jamming to the shyt had me like …:dwillhuh::mjcry::blessed:

I felt the same way when I was in Panama and seen how popular Tambou Combo was.
