I need a vacation. Might hit cap-haïtien some time this summer. Any hotels y’all recommend? I grew up in port au prince and know it and most of southern Haiti well but I’ve never known the north. Anything north of Croix des Bouquets ans Saint Marc areas are foreign to me
Try to visit Saut D'eau waterfall in the plateau central region. Not too far from Mirebalais. The drive up Morne Cabrit is worth it.

I also know Jacmel from childhood trips and Cotes De Fer where my dad was working on a maintenance contract for one of the small pite factories there . I dont know the english name for pite. The shyt they made ropes with and tons of other stuff.

Been listening to alot of old Zenglen recently (the 1999 - 2005 years)

when I was younger, Gracia Delva was like Michael Jackson to me.... top 5 voices ever.

& Maestro Richie is my favorite songwriter ever.

So nostalgic.... Our music is so underrated.

Finally other people here who love kompa.

Never loved them but I’ve learned to appreciate Zenglen over time but I was always more of a Tabou Combo fan and a Zin fan first and foremost. But Delva no doubt one of the GOATs. Powerful voice. Dadou Pasquet from Magnum Band is another one I feel is under appreciated as a powerful voice in the HMI. I feel we are losing those powerful voices in the new wave of kompa.

Some of the newer bands we have nowadays seem to have more of a “boyband” feel to them but they still make dope music. Bands like Harmonik, Carimi (broken up), Vayb, Kay, etc

Like I don’t care for Michael Guirand (formerly Carimi now Vayb) but dude be dropping some gems:wow:
Have me like “ fukk you! :pacspit:But that’s my shyt , tho:ohlawd:
