GZA or Lupe...who's the better lyricist?

GZA can outrap Lupe. Did he or did he not make Liquid Swords? Just ran a rap clinic on that album over RZA beats on there. Lupe never did anything that well. Please disagree so you can look stupid to non delusional nikkas in here again.

Thing is, Liquid Swords was 28 years ago. And it's one of my favorite albums, that I haven't stopped playing since. But since then, lyricism has advanced. So has showmanship. So you're right, Lupe doesn't have a Liquid Swords, and probably never will, but that doesn't mean that GZA can outrap him today.

Just giving the credit where it's due. Lupe is serious with the rhymes. I don’t even like all of his recent projects, but dude can still rap circles around most MC's today. I'm saying this objectively. I think they're both dope. But I can't see GZA outrapping Lupe today.

Cuz they’re using Liquid Swords as a red herring, it’s the only leg they have to stand on.

I can beat ppl over the head that Get Rich Or Die Tryin is better than any Jadakiss album, but it’s not gonna gimme any ground to prove 50 is a better rapper throughout their respective careers.

Now of course the gap between GZA & Lupe isn’t as wide as the aforementioned, but it’s clear to make out the logical fallacy

Dude followed it up with multiple strong solo albums and got impeccable work on multiple Wu albums, group and solo. He got a deeper discography than Lupe with a superior top end

Gza is stright to the point complex. Likereading the ny times. Lupe tries to be overally complex like a science paper but it works. Both have their own style of lyricism. I prefer simpler. But lupe is no dummy people acting like he is are crazy man.

Liquid swords, beneath the surface, grandmasters > my 3 fav lupe albums but not by some chasm or anything.

Gza is the literal example of half short, twice strong. Lupe does too much to say nothing. Wordplay for wordplays sake only works when you are saying something else.

Had the toughest crew in HipHop calling him their head. Was on some of the hardest albums and had stellar verses.

The entirety of The Coli champions Nas and Lupe Fiasco above just about anyone
else. These two are The Coli's heroes, the other two rappers who still get a lot of burn
are Kid Cudi and strangely Charles Hamilton.

My son u know I fukk wit u but u should be the last one talking as well. I try to counter the Lupe hate on here but u on the opposite end of the spectrum as well. U have ur favorites and will discount basically any other emcee that don't fit into that mold of who ur favorites are. Will flat out say they ain't lyricists n all kinda shyt and they could be held by esteem as some of the best emcees to ever do it. U tried to shyt on Rakim as a lyricist on here so I don't know if it's just trolling or u just have an EXTREMELY narrow view of what counts as lyricism. This stance usually comes from people who aren't writers themselves and don't understand the intricacies of actually writing lyrics from your own thoughts.
