sure did...when my parents finally got rid of their TVs man...the upstairs TV was the one with all the wood...i remember i was the one that had to move that shyt down the stairs, outside, and put in the trunk of my edge to take to goodwill because my dad had a bad shoulder and couldn't help much...the basement TV i mentioned in my previous post, my brother was around to help me carry that shyt through the garage and put it outside for pickup..thank goodness

I wonder how heavy those old wooden sets on the floor were. That shyt didn't budge when I was little

And that's $5000 1999 dollars. That $9500 today

Also those prices were when Japan was controlling the industry. China came and crushed buildings (figuratively) and now we got $500 80 inch 4K TVs waiting for you in the middle of the Walmart aisle

China has been our best friend, as consumers

And boy do Americans know how to be consumers

I remember paying $1200 for my first 40" flatscreen tv in 2008, and I thought I was getting a bargain at the time :blessed:

EDIT: I found a struggle picture from back in the day for reference.

:damn: the crib was dusty :whew:

Yeah my first flatscreen was a 26 inch pause and I paid 700 on sale for it

I still have it in a spare bedroom :heh:

Tech prices used to be outrageous. I remember my pops coming home proud as shyt with a Betamax player in his hands he bought for $1000 in the early 80s. He later went on to buy a big ass projection TV for the basement that had to cost a grip and when my folks moved around 2007 even the Mexican landscaper wouldn't take it off his hands.

Life comes at you fast. :wow:

I still have my 52' sharp aquos working from 2006. Works great for my kids to watch Netflix on. What's crazy tho is ive had 4 other flat screens since and they all tapped out.

Brehs Donald Trump just mentioned American consumers as if American consumption is a product itself :mjlol:

Also furthermore ... There is nothing about international trade that resulted in $5,000 losing half of its value in 25 years

That's monetary policy (aka money printer go brr:umad:
