I thought the same thing. If he paid 5000 for that TV in any decade he got got. There is no way. Everybody in 99 had a TV that size or bigger. Pretty sure they weren't paying 5000.

My samsung 60in plasma which I still have from 15 years ago cost me 2000
sure did...when my parents finally got rid of their TVs man...the upstairs TV was the one with all the wood...i remember i was the one that had to move that shyt down the stairs, outside, and put in the trunk of my edge to take to goodwill because my dad had a bad shoulder and couldn't help much...the basement TV i mentioned in my previous post, my brother was around to help me carry that shyt through the garage and put it outside for pickup..thank goodnessThe weight of TVs came a long way. It took two people to carry a 32” back then
i still have my first flat screen i got in 2009 that i bought at best buy with my winnings from the pacquiao vs cotto fight...its in my bedroom..i think it was 600-700 bucks for the best buy brand...still going strong
