This is what our family’s “big screen” tv looked like in the mid 90s

The weight of TVs came a long way. It took two people to carry a 32” back then

I think the Sony Trinitron I had was like 170 lb

Manufacturing was not evolved enough to the level it would get to where mass production could offset cost. Components were more expensive as well.

What we witnessed in the last decade of technology just leapfrogging year to year has people using that as a reference for the past. Things cost more to make and more upfront. That was the norm.

I had my classic NES system hooked up to that. Literally played duck hunt on that exact tv.

That’s crazy , you can cop a 65 inch 4k tv today for 400 -450 bucks

TVs are only cheap so you will go out and by one and they make their money back by talking you into subscriptions and selling the data they collect on you through your TV

i remember my dad got a super nice TV from sound playground once he finally finished the basement back in 1990 and hooked the nintendo, socrates entertainment system, vcr, and hotbox u to it..i think it was 36 in...our friends and my cousins loved watching movies or playing video games on it lol...memories
