Low-key... I'd rather Sheamus dethrone GUNTHER if the time came.
He's never beaten the man, and it's gotten to the point where Sheamus was all "Never again"
Angle could write itself.
You could build that up to be a good post WM feud.

So to piggyback off this point, how do you book a champion who everyone feels would have no challengers (who people think will beat him) like Gunther?
People said Priest's reign was better cause each opponent you thought can beat him, so if you have a Roman Reigns or a Gunther who is show cant be beat, they will get to the title eventually. So how do you beat him? Or make his reign worth watching?
Somebody up there made the biggest point, though. It's not that he's a bad or even boring champ.
It's just that he's working the world champ schedule and there's no overly hoped underdogs for him to feud with.

Because his two title reigns were so close together, I would make it so that his presentation is different. As IC champ, he was like an arrogant, snobbish, but rather clean heel. He didn't resort to underhanded tactics to retain, he was just that good. Maybe make him a little more dastardly, have him attack people before matches, try to intentionally injure people. Make his approach to keeping wrestling "sacred" more twisted and unhinged. Recruit more people into Imperium. Maybe he takes a turn into being more of a face while the person who will eventually beat him shifts more into being a heel.
No matter what, the long-term champ has to change over the course of their title reign so the formula doesn't get stale.
That requires minimal effortstill a better champ than moxley
