All very good points. Personally I feel like Priest was a much better world champion because there was far less predictability with his reign. Not only was he having solid matches, he could have feasibly lost to every opponent he wrestled. Gunther's matches have been excellent, but his defense have had zero drama or suspense. Zero.

Priest was excellent working from underneath as a face. To the point where that it was shocking that he won at all during his reign.

Fans are conditioned to believe that Gunther is unbeatable. It works for a mid card champion. It's extremely hard to pull off as a top guy and make it not predictable.

HHH should have jobbed out Gunther for a bit after his IC reign. Showing some weakness isn't always bad in pro wrestling.

Maybe they should've spaced out his reigns a little more then. The mid-level to actual boss transition has been...off. Cody was chasing the WWE title for two years, Gunther got the world title in four months.

Sometimes that is due to circumstances. I think if Drew didn't have the personal stuff to take care of like his wife being ill and other things. He would of probably got the title back and had a longer reign.

They tried to show some weakness when he was feuding with Priest back in Survivor Series and I actually thought it was a good idea, but like you said, they should've done it following Wrestlemania. Dude should've had his confidence shattered after the Sami loss, but he came back like nothing happened during KOTR. :mjlol:

Drew would've been a great option back in January, but once the Punk feud really took off, he was locked into that.

Only reason why I say no is because I just started getting back into WWE.
I’m just starting to get used to him and like him. His entrance is cold.
Netflix has brought a lot of fans back to the product.
Many of us are getting used to some of these stars.

Drew/Punk for the title at SSlam + Seth being the ref makes for even higher stakes. Makes Seth's motives even more unclear. Which in turns adds more fuel to Punks follow up feud with Seth later on down the line. You're gone 10 years and yet you get a title shot for being injured etc etc..

still a better champ than moxley :skip:
I blame Darby Allin for being a dumbass, I hope he never wins the world title now. Dude prioritizing a fukking mountain over being world champion is a slap in the face to the company, but Tony Khan being the coward that he is just lets it happen ofc. Moxley needs to drop that title asap, IDK why they won't just put the title on Hangman and call it a day.

I don't think he's boring at all, he puts up great matches and is good with the promo. The issue is definitely his opponents so far. Like @Silkk said, he's fighting 2nd tier guys rather than top tier guys. That's on Triple H and WWE to fix.

Hopefully WWE can get him Punk, Cena, etc with WM season coming in.
If Seth is supposed to be turning heel soon, I have no idea why they didn't just pull the trigger on him facing Gunther for the title months ago.

It's not that it's boring..he don't wrestle..he hides. They trot him out like he's a 1980s level champion...silly in this day and age.
