Switzerland is not a dumb country. They have remained largely neutral during some of the fiercest battles in Europe. They are responsible for a good portion of technological advances when compared to their population. They are a multi-ethnic European country that has remained pretty stable. Albert Einstein was a citizen of Switzerland and made major advances in physics during his time there. They invest in human capital. Many of Europe's best and brightest moved to Switzerland because they create an environment that fuels advancements and innovation. I think that with their education system and culture, they are a country that will see future gains in various areas by giving additional funds to adults to pursue their passions. People that are passionate are true innovators and creators.

You can't convince people who think humans are bums who need their corporate overlords to enslave them into work

Exactly, a lot of these guys don't understand. They are not trying to give $30k/year to irresponsible, ignorant, and uneducated people. They are looking Switzerland through their own foggy lenses...rather than looking at the history of Switzerland, their citizens, education system, past and current success through the eyes of the government. They know what their people are capable of and they trust that their citizens will do the right thing. Its also an incentive to keep their talent in the country and possibly attract more talent.

I know a dude from Switzerland that speaks, reads and writes 4 different languages and is married to an American. He owns his own business and he told me that in Switzerland their high schools put you into an area of interest based on your aptitude and interest and his was business. He would take business classes in the morning and go to an apprenticeship in the afternoons. The apprenticeship is part of their education component for secondary school. By the time he finished high school he knew how to develop and run a business :mindblown:

Our education system is by design to make you smart enough to be a corporate slave but not smart enough to have the confidence to be independent or an innovator. Its the reason why the elite in this country have the upper hand because they make sure they get access to these tools. Understand that the American government does nothing by accident, everything is by design.

no where has this system been deployed before...It is guaranteed to fail and create chaos.
There is no incentive to work if I can get free money...
Money don't grow on trees. At some point the free money people will be getting is will run out.

That's when things will get interesting.

You scoff at this. The joke is on you.

You are already doing this in America, but in a corrupt fashion that serves your oligarchs rather than the people.

You are paying a lot of people to keep the military-industrial-media-prison-intelligence-complex up and running, yet there is no productive output or economic value in these activities.

Here's an idea, stop with all the bullshyt but keep paying people, and what do you have if not what the Swiss are trying to implement?

Free up people to develop skills, business and services. You're free to argue that the economic output from these new activities will be miniscule, yet anything above zero will be an improvement over your current system.
