Nah, it's based on hamlet. But Sutter doesn't understand that source material well enough to pull it off.

Clay = Claudius
Gemma = Gertrude
Jax (Jackson) = Hamlet
John (Jack is a nickname for John) = Hamlet Sr.
Opie = Hamlet's girlfriend Ophelia (:scust: not sure where he was going with this, he's probably lucky he decided not to pursue it)
Piney = Polonius, Ophelia's stupid father
Nords = Norway
