The first HD GTA game to grace consoles, I remember this and infamous was two of the first games I got back I first got my PS3.

Rockstar changed the whole tone with this one having a more serious vibe to it. Seems like every franchise back then felt like they had to be gritty and serious when they made the jump to HD. To be honest I feel like this is the weakest GTA tho Niko was bland, I wasn't fond of the serious tone it had, and the lack of the rpg elements that SA had was disappointing.

I still had fun when I played it

I remember being that they put a whole Katt Williams stand up in the game

the beat 102.7 and the vibe 98.8 was two of my favorite stations

How do y'all feel about it tho first HD GTA does it still hold up? Was it a disappointment to you? Or is it your favorite GTA? And where would you rank it?

The PC version was horribly optimized.

I liked the story but the game didn't have much replay value.

The worst GTA in the franchise hands down. Even the old top down ones are better.

It's overrated by racist cacs who were glad not to have a black guy again. It being the first GTA game with a perfect score on IGN also was controversial.

Lowkey this was the game that kickstarted livestreams. Back when Rockstar didn't want a SINGLE clip of gameplay uploaded to anywhere except those edited official trailers before the game's release, people flocked to streamers who got it early on a site called Justintv, which later became known as Twitch.


Oh and this game has aged like ASS.

I’ll never forget the pride jealousy and confusion I felt when I got that trophy for killing one of the game devs on my friend’s account
I was prideful cause I figured it’d be rare to do that, confused cause I didn’t know what I just did when that popped up, and jealous it wasn’t on my profile cause I knew I wouldn’t be able to do that


It was a great game, one of those “oh I remember those days” type of games

But the difficulty of getting those trophies made me not wanna buy them

it was great at the time, but after playing GTA 5, it was awful.

Cool vibe with the NYC feel and the music, etc., but again, after GTA 5, you could tell it was a 1st console effort

My ocd had me maintaining all those friendships. shyt got to be a real pain in the ass. It made the game no fun. It’s definitely my least favorite GTA, due to that. I could barely manage to even finish the game. shyt was so boring.
