Brehs better be stocking up on essentials: water, storable food/some way to get/grow food, have some type of way to distill water, and a way to have fire to cook (propane, generator, whatever). These are things you should be looking to have anyway in the case of emergency.

The Greek government capitulated on Thursday to demands from its creditors for severe austerity measures in return for a modest debt write-off, raising hopes that a rescue deal could be signed at an emergency meeting of EU leaders on Sunday.
Athens is understood to have put forward a package of reforms and public spending cuts worth €13bn (£9.3bn) to secure a third bailout from creditors that could raise $50bn and allow it to stay inside the currency union.
A cabinet meeting signed off the reform package after ministers agreed that the dire state of the economy and the debilitating closure of the country’s banks meant it had no option but to agree to almost all the creditors terms.

I haven't been following this closely, so why did Greece go through with the referendum vote only to capitulate to Euro demands after?

Because there's politics and there's reality.
The referendums weren't to leave the Eurozone/EU, they were to reject the current bailout conditions. But more importantly, they were a great moment of political showmanship by the Greeks, and by holding them, Tsipras and Syriza could 1) get a bump in their popularity (we stood up to Europe!) and 2) show Europe how far they're willing to go. I doubt the measures they agreed to were what was on the table pre-referendum, so it might be that the increasingly realistic threat of jumping off the cliff (with the rest of the Eurozone, especially Germany, still attached) was enough to jostle free some concessions from the creditors. Notice how all the big European institutions started to say Greece needs debt relief?
But realistically, Greece is looking into the abyss and they need that money badly. I think they were always going to end up accepting some sort of austerity conditions, they were just trying to get the best hand they could. It was political posturing.

They govt would collapse if they didn't put it to a referendum and capitulated before asking. It's political cover. They can also say to the EU we have popular support to say no to your demands, which in theory should weaken creditors demands.
