California DNC is literally pursuing reparations harder than any other party in any other state in the entire country. Even when they delayed the two top bills on the reparations issue because they got word that Newsom wouldn't sign them in present form, they still passed 3 other bills on the pro-reparations agenda including one that will return stolen property back to Black folk and another that allocated $12 million to the 2025 budget for reparations agenda. The two bills that were pulled back weren't even killed, they were just delayed until the next session so they can work out the dispute.

Yet you have all the smoke for the state party that is doing the MOST, and were straight up gloating gleefully when the bills were delayed because you WANTED the Democrats to look bad more than you wanted reparations to go through.

I think that excuse is a lame one that wouldn't justify delaying the bills because I don't think these bills would meaningfully impact Kamala's chances. I think they should have passed them anyway, and Newsom is delaying for his own reasons, not necessarily for Kamala. But suggesting that the presidential election is more important than these particular bills is not a bad take.

In fact, I'm pretty sure it's a take that every #bothsides poster in here deep down agrees with, because NONE of them mentioned the bills once a single time between February 2024 when the bills entered the record and August 2024 when they were shelved. They ONLY started caring about these bills once they knew they wouldn't pass and thought they could blame it on Democrats before the election.

If you think the bills were so deeply important to the race, then why hadn't you spoken on them even once before today?
