California is in a 40 billion dollar deficitI don't know why they didn't just pass it. It wouldn't have made the Dems look bad in California, but it would definitely had made Newsom look bad by breaking away from the party line.

And if you look deeper (nationwide, not just California), it was black conservatives and liberals who teamed up together like Voltron to make sure no one ever mentioned the word "Reparation" again.
Watching it in real time was bizarre. We went from a point in history where every single presidential candidate needed to have an actionable reparations plan to even be considered real candidate to... fast-forward months later.... even talking about reparations was seen as "a means to divide our fellow blacks"
this is one of the few times were #BOTHSIDES were pieces of shyt
