This makes it offcial. All the Black nerds/podcasters I listen to are done with this show. All of them watch "Supergirl" on Monday nights instead.
I just listened to his review for this week's episode & most of the stuff you speculated with him having a problem with is spot on. I actually agree with most of the stuff he said in the review, the only difference is I've accepted "Gotham" for the fukkery that it is & most've of the folks who quit on the show this season won't put up with it because there's too many other good comic book shows currently on TV.I have never listened to this dude's podcast or visited his site but I bet I can guess that the majority of his complaints is over shyt he assumed he knows about the Batman mythos not being depicted that way on Gotham.
He probably is whining about Bruce knowing Selina; Gordon killing Galavant; too many Batman villains being introduced and being so much older than Bruce Wayne; Barbara being a crazy lesbian etc. etc.
If dudes would just watch this show and accept it for what it is instead of being mad that it is not the show in their head then we would have far less Internet nerd rage about Gotham.
Apologists for bad comic book adaptations always use the same damn excuses:I have never listened to this dude's podcast or visited his site but I bet I can guess that the majority of his complaints is over shyt he assumed he knows about the Batman mythos not being depicted that way on Gotham.

But see you think it is bad writing and directing while I disagree with you.Apologists for bad comic book adaptations always use the same damn excuses:
1) People are mad that it's not following the canon
2) It's not poorly written. It's campy! They do it on purpose! It's fun! (I'll let you guess what other show I'm talking about with this excuse)
Most of the time bad writing and directing is just bad writing and directing. If it was just another bad TV show I'd just change the channel, but it's a bad show about a property I enjoy so I'm a little more vocal about it.
The fans don't care if something isn't 100% canonical if it entertains. The Batman animated series created a non-canon girlfriend in Harley Quinn who became so popular she became canon and is a main character in a major hollywood film. Is Galavan going to be remembered after this show goes off the air? The Dark Knight turned Joker's bleached skin into non-canon, makeup and that character became an iconic villain in pop-culture. Is Galavan's actor going to win any Academy awards? These are extreme examples, but the point still stands.
How is this or Supergirl still on? At least with Supergirl they can introduce "new" characters (not that they do anything good with them) but Gotham is literally a retelling of the rouges gallery. Even worse they try to use Gordon and Bruce in dramatic scenes wherein they're supposed to be threatened with death....bruh...Spoilers, Both survive and lead epic lives when they're in their 30-40's. Suspense is wilted the very minute they try that with Bruce or the Commish.
I honestly haven't checked for this season because the 1st one was so bad in my opinion. But I'll give it another try if you think this season is better. But if you think season 1 was good too, then I won't even bother. But see you think it is bad writing and directing while I disagree with you.
Some people are overdoing that criticism, but there's some validity there too. Mainly that the writer's are going to that rogue's gallery and nostalgia well a little too much. There's no reason they couldn't have done it a few times and just wrote that rogue well enough to carry a whole season. Doing it repeatedly is just a cheap thrill - that's the definition of bad writing to me. Introducing a girl named "Ivy Pepper" wearing all green just so the fans can go "Ooooo! That's Poison Ivy!!!" for a minute and then what? Would the show be good in its own right without that kinda shtick? And since the primary criticism from people about this show since the first day it aired has been along the lines of "All Batman's bad guys are going to be so much older than him" or "Catwoman and Batman didn't know each other as kids" it makes it very easy to dismiss a lot of critics of the show.
