Truth is i dont know what to make of the NFL's so-called "parody" anymore. We stripped our already bad roster of all its better players and still so many team are so close to being worse than we are. Imagine if we had kept Stills, Drake, Tunsil and Xavien Howard was healthy.
I' was mad we're extending DeVante Parker. Like 1 was telling @Sauce Dab , after he never stayed healthy until a contract year i didnt trust that clown but i never doubted his talent. But from what i understand we didnt break the bank for him (Only $10M per year and onlyfirst 2 years are guaranteed) so i'm at pece with it now. IF Preston Williams can come back fully healthy and continue to develop (big IF) towards his full potential we may have a dangerous receiving corp as early as next year waiting for whatever QB we fetch. I still miss Kenny Stills, tho.
The kid was fun to watch

I am happy regardless of the outcome. If we go 0-2 (secure #2 or get #1) or go 2-0 (#5 at the furthest) or 1-1, this season was fun (except for the fans bytching after every win ). I'm happy with this system and coaching staff (hopefully Jim Caldwell comes back).
CIN should win if they just stick with the running game. Raekwon going on IR is the final nail to our run defense.

I’ve had more fun this year than all those other seasons where we were actually trying to win and still ended up 6-10. The real season starts in the offseason. It’s Chris Grier time to shine
As much as i want him to succeed as a black GM along with a black Head coach I'm kinda nervous
Look at it this way:
Grier claims he's the one that has made every pick since 2016. What does he have to show for it? Picks like Charles Harris and Leonte Caroo who were busts among his few successes?
2016
1 Laremy Tunsil OT
2 Xavien Howard CB
3 Kenyan Drake RB
3 Leonte Carroo WR
6 Jakeem Grant WR
6 Jordan Lucas S
7 Brandon Doughty QB
7 Thomas Duarte TE
2017
1 Charles Harris DE
2 Raekwon McMillan MLB
3 Cordrea Tankersley CB
5 Isaac Asiata OG
5 Davon Godchaux DT
6 Vincent Taylor DT
7 Isaiah Ford
2018
1 Minkah Fitzpatrick S
2 Mike Gesicki TE
3 Jerome Baker OLB
4 Durham Smythe TE
4 Kalen Ballage RB
6 Cornell Armstrong CB
7 Quentin Poling LB
7 Jason Sanders K
2019
1 Christian Wilkins DT
3 Michael Deiter G
5 Andrew Van Ginkel LB
6 Isaiah Prince T
7 Chandler Cox RB
7 Myles Gaskin RB
And whenever we bring this us Stephen Ross is always quick to defend Grier by saying "Only those who were in the room (draft room) know what really happened." Which makes me wonder was he or was he not really running the draft? Were TannenBaum and Gase overrriding him resulting in the above mentioned busts? We know Caroo was Gase's love child. Or were these his picks as HE CLAIMS.
See, while i like his Flores hire and his moves to purge the roster and acquire more picks i'm a bit nervous knowing he's the one making the selections with those picks. How many busts did you count in the first 4 rounds in the spoiler above?
Ya'll let me know your opinions on this
Like I get that TannenBaum was a big spender type like Ross and was doing as his boss would have liked wich is make a big splash every offseason with big signings like Suh. Whereas Grier has always said he doesnt believe in dropping mega dollars on Free agents. I believe his exact words were "You gotta show me that you can do it on this team. I'll break the bank the resign my own". Meanwhile he didnt believe in dropping top dollar on Jarvis Landry (i always agreed with this even tho some of you didnt) and also admitted he was disappointed that Juwan James didnt give him a chance to resign him.
So in that sense He and TannenBaum were total opposites. Now factor in Adam Gase's emotional rolloer-coasters and you have a formula for disaster since HC, GM and TP arent on the same page.
Minkah is an all-pro, both coaching staffs mismanaged him. Leave him at free safety and some slot-cb.
Gieske is a good TE. Developing nicely.
Baker would be an elite will linebacker. Doesn't fit this system.
Sanders is a good kicker.
2019:
Wilkins is developing, I like what I see from him.
Nobody else worth mentioning.
Dieter sucks.
Free agency is going to be interesting, the podcast I listen to reinforce the point that Flores and Grier are not big spenders. So, they might not break the bank at anybody.

So, those teams are trash and will stay trash. It's about winning titles, you need good players that fits the system and good coaching staff. Flo is good and this staff can develop. Let them build the culture. We don't get Joe Burrow, so what? You think CIN will be winning titles with him? How many titles did Luck win? You're not winning without culture for it.
These wins are just byproducts of it. We'll still be in a position to get Tua or whoever fits. We're finally off the treadmill, we'll be a consistent 10+ win team and win titles with a great coach and culture.
Now, we need an offensive line, edge rushers, and depth. QB first though.
