They can go a lot of different ways with the starting lineup, but I could see Hassan/Winslow/Richardson/Waiters/Dragic being the closing lineup
Only when playing smallball Lineups.

I can't see Winslow guarding traditional 4s quite yet. They'd eat us alive on the boards. Whiteside can only do so much in his own down there. Winslow is great at boxing out but he doesn't have the leaping ability to continuously outrebound bigger guys while outsized

Sure, but how many teams really have traditional 4s though, especially in the east? The Cavs do when they play TT and Love together, but I’ve been reading that they’re going to have Love play center a lot with Lebron and Crowder at the forward spots

How did he look overall? Think he's the Bill Lambeer type goon yet passer and shooter we hoped McRoberts would be?
He's an accidental goon but overall he impressed me. Moves well, can bring the ball up the floor, not scared to shoot either.

Basically the complete opposite of this guy

I hear you but I'd like to see Winslow try to trim down and play SF/SG than bulk up to play SF/PF. At least just for a while.

No homo but homie had thick thighs his first two years in the league which I think is why he can't jump much. That and With his body type he's be best to try to be a Jamal Mashburn type SF/PF because he had the ball handling skills for it. But he still lacks Mash's range and upper body strength to post people up.

With the way he's trimmed down over the summer I just wanna see how he plays the SF/SG game for a bit to see if it's a better fit for him. I think he can be more explosive this way until he develops a bit of consistent range.

Besides, we're clogged up at PF right now

Justise was getting up high to get those rebounds and blocks. He just looked quicker getting up and down the court.

I dont like him at PF, he can play it because his bball IQ is high as hell. I feel like Spo wants him to be a Draymond type bur he can be so much more! Hell prove it too. He was running the offense so well. I want him to take more shots next game.

Where do you see Spo ultimately going with the starting group?

Too early to tell but if I had to...

What will happen? Dragiç/Waiters/Winslow/Olynyk/Whiteside

What I think should happen?
Dragiç/Waiters/<3pt_shooter>/Olynyk/Whiteside

I just don't see Winslow and James Johnson being as effective as of hope when on the court together much unless it's just them and shooters all around them.
Unless of course Winslow pulled a miracle out of his ass and somehow developped a deadly 3pt shot over the summer ala Alan Houston

I know we started Babbitt like the half the season but is KO enough speed on defense next to Whiteside? He and Winslow seem to work well together, might be a good contrast to the Dragic/waiters backcourt

Ultimately I think we're going to roll with:
Dragic/Waiters/Rich/JJ/Whiteside, atleast to begin the season. I just havent heard anything other than JJ at the 4, and Rich is probably the best complement there..taller and more dynamic offensively than McGruder, but I wouldnt rule him out to start either

Knowing spo i think he will adjust according to match up and wuteva starting 5 we have will just be to start the game. I think O next to white fits best only because i dont remember him and JJ doing much next to each other or if its a big enough sample size. Obviously for best result we need for winslow and JJ to at least be respectable enough from 3 that white doesnt get doubled

Ah ok, I'm cool with committee

Don't want them to force anybody into a dedicated role and limit them.
I watched the condensed game and even saw Olynyk bring the ball up on the break a few times.

I know it's preseason game but I'm a bit excited about this year :ehh:
Only downside I see is we are so DEEP that someone who we (as fans) want to see play (Adebayo, Winslow) or deserves to be playing (McGruder, etc) may not see as much minutes as we'd like or even rarely see the floor, period.

Olynyk might start at PF because of his defense + shooting and bettet spacing but I'd like to see him at C with James Johnson at PF when Whiteside is resting. Add Winslow and JRich cutting it may be a lot of fun. I could easily see us going 10 deep on a regular basis with Adebayo and UD being the ones held out
