Eh cacs are like this. Where I work we dont have an attendance policy or scheduled breaks and lunches. I used to go to the gym during my free time..work was all done, I can literally do what I want. I went to the gym and I come back my supervisor was like "where's were you?" The gym...." I was looking for you and I couldn't find you, I didn't realize you were using your time. Make sure you let me or someone know when your going to be out, because I had to look for you and I couldn't do what I needed I'm going to report this up, I don't think anything will come of it but we all need to be in communication.

Anyway he switched. I didn't get written up.

Then we don't have attendance policies people can come in up to and hour late without calling they can make it up after their shift or anytime on the week. I used it 4 times. Came in 2-3-2 and 7 minutes "late" which ain't even late cause im always punching out late. Anyway dude was like "be mindful of your time...." Yesterday he's telling a woman we work with to sleep in and "flex" the time......

...it ain't for us breh.


Hell I came in a couple hours after my girl miscarried and he left work for 3 days cause his son threw up and just didn't feel good the next two days, even though his wife is a stay at home mom.

Welp, after a month and some change, I got fired right as I walked in. I walked into the office at exactly 9:02. As soon as I sat down he called me into his office. I'm thinking it's gonna be the daily meeting to go over the stuff we need to do for the day.

Instead he says "you're late and this is honestly not something I can keep have happening. We're going to have to let you go".

At first I thought he was joking. Like "ha, yeah good one. Me and them two minutes "

But dude was dead serious and asked me to turn in my hours for the week so I could get my last check

Keep in mind this dude pretty much contradicted himself on more than one occasion. Before I even started I asked him about attendance. He told me "as long as you're not showing up ridiculously late, I'm good. I'm not the type to hold a stopwatch at the door to try and catch you.". Yet that's exactly what he did. Before y'all ask, the latest I've ever gotten into the office was 5 minutes.

And on top of that, this cat was training me on some other areas of the business because he told me there's a place for me with the company long term. This was Wednesday when he said that.

The icing on the cake is that while he was firing me, he was complimenting my work skills. Said I was good at what I did, but he couldn't have me coming in a few minutes late. He even said he'd be open to rehiring me on a temporary basis in the future

The only thing that makes me mad about this is I was offered a position with a black business that I turned down because I had already to committed to this two weeks prior

Anyway, I'm not tripping to be honest. I've had a strong desire to get back to my entrepreneurial pursuits but I had gotten complacent. so maybe this was the kick in the ass I needed

But yeah, free daps to everyone cause I apparently got some free time now

this means what? this means no matter what a cac says on the job you act like they've never said it unless its in black and white in a positive manner where you can use it to make you look better on the job to get that raise/promotion or to CYA. If it aint in black and white on paper or an email. Or a recorded voice mail. It never happened.

Lastly, If you get a job, and a better situation comes calling 2 weeks later, 1 day later. 3 hours later, or 3 months later after you have already accepted another position at another company. you take the job that is the best fit for YOU(financially, spiritually, mentally.) There is no loyalty to these companies UNLESS they have already shown you tons of loyalty before. And hiring you is not loyalty. They hired you because they believe you will make them money. and you will. So thats not a favor. you do a job for them and they pay you for that job. It's a partnership.

It was so ridiculous, they have exit interviews. and the guy that did my exit interview was a brotha. he read the comments from other workers, other managers. and was like wait.. what? so they are letting you go because........
I just laughed. and shook my head. He already knew. Back then i was to young to really pursue a lawsuit. or i was to young in the mind to go forward with something like that. But i easily could have and probably should have.

he made a big deal out of 2 mins for a few possible reasons.
if it's a large company . reason #1 is HR was coming down on all of the bosses about time. they do this every year or when the big fish start asking HR to run reports on time, attendance/etc.

then everyone gets shook and starts trying to tap people for time issues out of the blue. It never fails.

so the boss is Cover his own A..

if it's a small company. someone hit the boss up thats his higher up and asked about attendance issues. Shoot, quiet as kept. the issue may be the Op's boss' attendance for all we know. but to again Cover his own A... he will flip the script and put the blame on an employee. especially a minority, preferably a black one.

lastly since he told him he liked his work and said he would hire him temporary. I wonder if he got the word from up high that they no longer have the budget to pay the OP and give the boss a big raise at the end of the year. so he made his choice. which is why he would bring the OP back temporarily. that means with no benefits people.

for those who dont know. if you make 50k a year. + benefits. you actually make like 65k or something could be more depending.

so understand what kind of savings they get to have you their with ZERO benefits. and when you take days off they dont pay you. zero sick time. zero vacation time. no health benefits/ no dental, etc.

but you as a temp they still get your work and expertise. real shady.

you should. but if your boss is telling you he dont care about time like that. and you show up within 15 mins fo your shift. and you're a very good worker(which he supposedly was). there is no issue. the issue is he was black and the guy was white and thats how it goes. life living under white supremacy.

A person cannot be randomly fired. There have to be written warnings between a supervisor and hr. If it happens without those circumstances being met, they have to pay unemployment.

Which his why jobs have probationary periods. He got fired after working there 1 month, not 1 year breh.

The red is the main importand part, when playing chess or checkers. Basically, he was setting up you up to fire you right after he hired you. He told you that lie, to let your guards down and that's what happened. But, you fukk yourself up; by asking about attendance, you gave him the chess move.

From right there, when you asked about attendance, he already knew what he was going to fire you for. They were looking to fire you anyways, so asking about attendance, made his job easier.

Why would he even hire him if he was already wanting to fire him? you have a job just show up on time, it's simple sh1t.

Dude is lying about traffic. Traffic has been extremely light during the Christmas holidays so his ass was just late. Traffic didn't have nothing to do with it.
