not necessarily, the best thing for him is adequate rest/nutrition in the immediate weeks post-operatively, then being as aggressive as allowed by his orthopedist/physical therapists. the mental hurdle will be much tougher than the physical. I don't believe in the platelet rich plasma nonsense, but in fairness, I haven't done much research on it. The hyperbaric oxygen probably wouldn't do much for him unless he had issues with wound/incision healing.
