Unless Whiteside turns into a healthy Bynum or better, the Heat are stuck into treadmill status or worse for the next 3-5 years. Wade can't stay healthy for more than 60 games; Bosh is a maxed out 3rd option, while Dragic is good but not max worthy. That's why those picks were key, because they could of been pieces to turn this team around in 2018, but that's likely out the window now.

on top of that they are down the road, the Heat core will be old and they probably won't even be a playoff team in a couple of years. HOWEVER, them landing Dragic now can make them a VERY dangerous team come the playoffs. I think this is a good trade both ways, but the SUNS came out better. If you not a contender, and you're not building for the future, it's tough to get ahead in the NBA> But you gotta give the HEAT credit, they are actively trying to get better.

Good trade for the Heat in the short term. If they can get the 7th or 8th seed and get a Toronto or Washington in the first round, they might be able to make some noise.

However, if they have to play Cleveland, ATL, or Chicago its a first round exit for them.
