That's fair, but to play devil's advocate, the data they gathered from Stadia theoretically helps improve their already dominate moat (Search and Ads)

:troll:

But if that was true they would have kept the service alive like they have done Android. Google doesn’t give a shyt about Cell Phones, Android is a data mining application and that’s why they are keeping it around. Stadia could have potentially been the same but it failed, they didn’t understand the market and that ignorance bit them in the ass,.

Phil Harrison is a complete fraud...how does this idiot keep getting these top jobs? Did a terrible job at both Sony and Microsoft who immediately got better once he left.

Like every other Google project...run it for a few months, then kill it.

At this point if you fukk with Google anything you’re pouring jelly on yourself.
If it ain’t gmail or YouTube, that shyt is on the chopping block. It’s crazy how they cancel stuff so fast. IT doesn’t even get a chance to grow.

Stadia is nice though. They just need more games. On a side note, those Stadia in house games aren’t really all that. They should keep making them, but give them away free with the service.

Google‘s Stadia team cancelled dozens of projects and third-party licensing deals as part of its shift away from video game production in recent months, people with knowledge of its plans told VGC.

The Google cloud gaming division cancelled a multiplayer game led by a former Assassin’s Creed creative, a sequel to Journey to the Savage Planet and backed out of proposals for Hideo Kojima (Death Stranding) and Yu Suzuki (Outrun) to create exclusive games for Stadia, the sources said.

They just simply didn't have the appetite to spend like they needed to spend.
