OP is right. Google manipulates search both in google-search and on youtube.

They have a policy on youtube of prioritizing "non-fringe opinion" safe content - which ultimately means corporate. They also do this in the suggested videos algorithm.

A lot of the smaller channels have noticed and have spoken about it.

They manipulate search as well by double guessing what you mean.

The clock is ticking on the usefulness of google search.

eventually commercial concerns + density of information mean that their search will degrade.

imagine in 100 years time google trying to figure out which links in those 1000 years still apply

their only hope is higher context added searching (inconvenient and classification is difficult) or AI (that doesn't tell porkies)

Maybe Im different but honestly, nowadays, I don't even see the need for conventional search engines unless you looking for porn, some type of exclusive merchandising, or something else beyond specific on the internet.

It feels like most anything in general you want is already curated on social media websites, YouTube videos, wikis, etc.

I actually don’t have a problem with Google at all.

You just have to know how to search for things with Google.

The only search engine I really find useless is Bing.

I have one of my browsers set for Bing as the main search page so I can collect points for my Xbox gamepass so I’m using the search to build up points and shyt. Like, I actively see how that AI search engine works because I’m just trying to get points, asking it random questions.

Needless to say, they still got some work to do
