They said some partners already have had it for a minute, and will be providing updates to partners three months in advance of launch in the future to further attempt to lessen the gap.

I would imagine the One series and S3 will definitely see an update this year. Anything older is probably a toss up. But it's not a major overhaul like 2.3 -> 4.0, so hopefully models that have ICS updates coming will see a timely update to JB.

It's legit probably my only gripe against owning an Android device and what's going to push me to get the iPhone 5 whenever it releases.

When I first bought my Galaxy S, like RIGHT when it came out, Cupcake released a few months later I believe. I wasn't able to actually get it until 5 or 6 months later. It was the most ridiculous thing. At the very least I know I'll never get another Samsung phone. They abandon new phones QUICK.

I'm hoping that will be less of an issue with Samsung moving to the single flagship model with little to no variation amongst carriers.
