It's not the only solution. You can use a free third party app like NewPipe or Vanced on your phone. No ads and lots of other features. You just can't log in to your account (at least not with NP).

Youtube premium is my most valuable subscription, it's worth the cost to get it the right way imo

Maaaan, if y'all don't just skip the Ads like everybody else... Use them ad breaks to go use the bathroom or go Hit the kitchen or something .. thats what i do..

I didn't even realise it till adverts started this morning. They had sent me a email a couple weeks ago saying my premium seems to be from the wrong country and that it would expire on the 17th
