lol. Good Will Hunting is the story of your life. LMAO. so you are intelligent and underachieve huh? so are alot of people. The thing about this story is that he was a genius, that was central. He wasn't just a smart dude underachieving, he was a beautiful mind type dude who was flying way under his ability. not only that, but i dont think he was the type to claim he is intelligent on web forums, if anything he downplayed and tried to hide his intelligence at just about every oppurtunity.

but either way son, if you watched the movie and thought, "hey im just like that, oh well" you kinda missed the most important part of the movie.

I always thought this movie was a bit overrated. I think people were desperate to see a movie about working a class schmuck who had all the potential to be a world-beater, and the complications of his well-meaning but troubled mentor. This seemed to be the big movie trope of that decade, thought it was very well-acted.

Like dude said a few posts up. I think Finding Forrester achieves the same thing but is a lot more grounded.

Yeah, the acting was fantastic but the movie didn't resonate with me like other classic films I've watched. Good movie, but not a classic to me.
