I don't think Seth MacFarlane had much to do with this in terms of writing. He has a million different projects with his name on them, and he's said multiple times that he's the kind of person that can only focus on one thing at a time. The only thing he's mentioned working on lately is the Ted series on Peacock. He hasn't said a word about this show.
If it did get cancelled, it was for the best. It didn't look like Good Times, just an animated sitcom called Good Times. And anybody with an understanding of what Good Times was or the people behind it would know why the response was so negative.
