Question about the end

Who was shooting at them? Was it the old lady's crew coming after them?

just finished and while cheesy I did like the ending even if I was expecting something far more demonic

but it makes complete sense as how the show had to end

hopefully we get a blu ray set for the series

I do think it fell off a bit, and doesn't really make sense to me how
Ciro seems to suddenly blame Genny for the death of his family, but that was Pietro and Genny actually handed his own father and Malamore up on a platter because of it.

I also think Ciero should've seen that doublecross by the Lord's lady coming from a mile away, I hated that b1tch btw and that whole character.

Still piff though.

Ciro wasn't beefing with Genny until he set him up with the Russians in the gulag...Genny was the one who started the war claiming Ciro betrayed him letting him think he killed his "brother"

I know but in the final episode Ciro makes multiple mentions of his daughter, and even threatens to kill Genny's fam to "let him know what it feels like". Genny had 0 to do with any of that so it just rang false to me.

I watched the movie way back in 2008 and I got into the show based on Salvatore Esposito's work in Fargo season 4. Best decision I ever made.
This is the Wire set in Italy. I havnt seen a crime drama this good since the Sopranos and the Wire.
I've also never seen so many women and children ruthlessly murdered. Like my God, the mafia in the States doesn't get down the way these goons in Naples do.
Things I like: the Italian trap rap. Hilarious but it's kinda decent. I guess the Neopolitan language lends itself well to rap music cause these Italian rappers always sound like they spitting HARD.
The complete lack of Hollywood crap, which is what bogged down the Sopranos in season 5 and 6. These writers ain't looking to make sweeping statements on the psyche of their characters or make them seem empathetic by having them rant to a shrink for hours. What you see is what you get with them.
One thing I notice about Mediterranean Euros is that they don't hesitate to invade the personal space of another man. Touching on each other, kissing each other, the way they hold a stare for an uncomfortably long time....North American men who aren't gay don't act like that....it's an interesting cultural difference.
