Men are men as far as that goes. The other stuff is poor management and that really sucks to see.

I'm sure if I were some washed up 40 year old c00n who lived below the mason dixon line I'd be all

I'm doing a bit, bruh. I've been volunteering/donating for years. You?

Doesnt seem like you're doing much to address the issues in this thread though. Lemme know what i can do to help. Lets just go down to one of them shelters and beat a nikkas ass.

The Wrong Side of the Tracks
I worked at a homeless shelter for a couple years and let me tell you, the staff doesn't have to try and 'pick up' any of the residents. We had to literally keep them off us and that was a MAJOR point of contention since we were subsidized by the County Gov't. and inspected 1/mo. not only by the County, but also the State as well as the Military since the facility was located on a military installation. I and a couple other staff members were accused on more than one occasion of abuse, but since we were never alone with clients (always had at least one other staff member present), and were required to log ALL incidents, the inquiries vindicated us.

The worst thing I ever saw was a 70+ year old lady getting lead out of the facility in hand-cuffs by MP's because her security check came back with a warrant for shoplifting.

In-short, there were too many eyes on us to allow for ANY fukkery to occur. This facility in the article isn't the norm.

:wtf:

Now I'm starting to recall my volunteering experiences from a couple years ago. I never paid attention those backhanded comments, and would never take advantage of people in a bad state, but I guess I can see how it happens...:aicmon:

Funny thing is volunteering at a food pantry showed me why socialism never works. Certain people get greedy and mess it up for others..

Hypothetically let's say:

You're volunteering at a homeless, then you see a chick like this come through the door:

She says she needs a place to stay for night, because she's fearful of her abusive boyfriend. She has a job interview lined up the very next morning. You know the beds inside of the homeless center are filled a lot types of nasty unsanitary pathogens...

You not going to offer her a place to stay for the night :shaq:

:beli:
This sounds like a @H@LLOW scenario

What would you do :ld:

No but seriously this kind of abuse is terrible and I hope these dudes suffer

I been lost faith in people. People use you for what they can get out ya. I don't care what position they are in...

Yall should hear the stories about how male prison guards take advantage of prisoners in female prisons.........:sadbron:

Although a lot of it is consensual, a lot of cats abuse their authority

But that's the thing, the lady disguised herself to look poorly groomed and blend in with the homeless. He didn't just kindly offer her his place for the night, he insisted multiple times, blocked other avenues and also kept on telling her to be quiet about it. He had no interest in her consent or desire. She tried to refuse him and just use the facility that night, and he wouldn't let her.

y'all making the story sound worse than it is. this is the key part which seems odd, but not crazy. considering 1) she wasn't really homeless so she probably didn't look busted and 2) he was right, it was dangerous in the inside.

I went out with the other ladies and children and a few minutes later he came out. He told me that the phone number I gave him did not work.

I told him it was dead and I needed to charge it.

He said, "Okay, well here is my number. Call me and we can hook up later tonight."

Did I just get propositioned by a staff member? I was infuriated but did not want to break my cover.

I answered, "Nah, man, I just need some food and some sleep."

"You don't want to sleep in there. It's dangerous. You can come sleep at my place. We can stop at McDonald's."

Seriously, a staff member - a person with some authority - was propositioning me - no, better yet, PREYING on a woman he KNOWS is in a vulnerable situation. A woman comes to The Shelter to escape the insecurity of the streets, not to be thrown to the wolves. Now I know why he let me stay and kicked the older woman out. He didn't want to get in her pants.

:skip:

Of course it was dangerous inside... you got people working there sexually exploiting the people they are supposed to be serving + protecting... in other words, its dangerous because of people like dude

So nah, nobody is overblowing anything. Regardless of how "good she looks"... the shyt was inappropriate and scummy :beli:
