how would yall describe the nightlife in Manhattan, is it a Vegas? Miami, Hollywood type?

It's better than all of those and varies from block to block. Each neighborhood has it's own characteristics. Tons of ways to get around and it's usually heavy foot traffic Thursday- Saturday but imo the weekdays have the best parties.

If you can't have fun at night in Manhattan then idk what to tell you.

I can recommend a few hotels in Manhattan...I go to NYC a lot. I wouldn't recommend a hotel by Wall St....it's like a honeycomb there so I found it more difficult to get a taxi at night.

As far as sightseeing, if you're into museums then the MET is the best museum I've been to. MoMA is nice if you like modern art and Museum of Natural History is good also. Museum of Sex sucks - don't bother...not worth the entrance fee at all.

As far as food, Buddakan is my fave. The food is amazing. And although I haven't been, I've been told to check out Grimaldi's pizza under the Brooklyn Bridge.

South Street Seaport is cool http://www.southstreetseaport.com/

I've been to 230 5th that someone already recommended - beautiful view of Manhattan. Also, the Gansevoort has a nice rooftop patio with a pool (the one on Park Ave., not Meatpacking district).

Pacha is a cool club - they have good food as well and it turns into a club afterwards (main floor bar of the restaurant and downstairs). The crowd was pretty mixed when I went and they play hip hop, R&B, reggae mostly (but that could have just been that particular night).

Oh and if you get a chance, go to Hoboken in New Jersey - they have a pier with probably the BEST view of Manhattan!

Wall Street dies after 5 pm though China Chalet is cool and there are a few all you can eat and drink Bro bars down there

Moma > MET Nobody wanna see old Renaissance painting. People want to see crazy ass sculptures and installations.

Grimaldi's is good but the wait aint worth it. If you do go, you should walk the bridge over there as that is pleasant. Most NYC pizza is solid. Cheap Chinese, Vietnamese, Dumpling spots are always good and on point. Bodega cold cut sandwiches are the business as well.

South Street Seaport was cool but it's been RIP since the hurricane

Pacha :scusthov: We off that. The Standard, Westway, 285 Kent, Santos, Le Baron, The Jane are all good but you got to be dressed trendy to go to that, besides that, go to dive bars cause girls are abundant and the drinks are cheaper, unless you go out just for the music.

ALSO, TAKE A CAB RIGHT ON THE WESTSIDE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT WITH FLEX ON THE RADIO AND THE BREEZE THROUGH THE WINDOWS

@Desirous Another avatar change? nice. Next time you come through the city, tour on me :youngsabo:

I prefer the Met...I like traditional art and they have a great metallurgy weapons exhibit.

lol thanks. I have tons of friends there, usually stay with them if not a hotel, so I know my way around pretty well.

As they say "roll with a boss or get lost in the sauce"

You have chosen very poorly :steviej:

Also OP, if you skate or bike and feel comfortable doing that in the city, give it a go. That is literally the best feeling.

Yeah i think the Met is better than Moma, plus its by central park, just give them a dollar and they give you a pin, their egyptian exhibit is really nice, and their chinese one is nice too. Moma does have the banging restaurant though.

Also go to the Tenement museum on the lower east side, gives you a good idea of how immigrants lived back then and even up to a few years ago. My JHS class went there and they showed us a tenement apartment that looked like how it looked like back in the 1900s, and we were all like damn this apartment is so much bigger than where we all lived on the LES.

WAY better  Agree with all.

Have you been to the Whitney Museum? I wanted to go last time, but the weather was so nice, we skipped it and went to Bronx Zoo instead.

Yeah I been to pretty much all museums, i went to public school in manhattan so we would take class trips to all the museums. My favorite one is the Frick museum, for some reason it stayed with me all these years, the collection is just incredible.

I guess, but nobody I know fux w/ the MET over the MOMA. It's all so similar while the MOMA has all types of crazy shyt.

MAN fukk THE TENEMENT MUSEUM. I use to work on Orchard St. I hate that whole fake azz New NY block. That street smells like gentrification, though the food and women are the baddest on that and Ludlow.

The Whitney is cool if you like the up incoming young artist. All of the SAIC and RISD and Cooper Union kids usually exhibit there.

There are so many wonderful ones out there. I want to check out the Frick also. NYC is my fave city...so much variety and culture (multi culture, at that).
