you can get a moderately priced hotel in Manhattan using priceline.com. When I was here looking for apartments, I found a room at the Intercontinental Barclay (4 star hotel) for about 130 bucks a night, inclusive of tax. Market rate is closer to $300.

Brooklyn
Get a hotel in Long Island City and you'll be 5 minutes from midtown Manhattan. If you want to be in Manhattan, try a hotel downtown if your pockets are straight. Can't beat shopping in SoHo and you'll def find a cool spot to party at night. I'd also second hitting up the MoMA.

It's cause NYC asians and mexicans are fresh off the boats. Cali got more types of Asians and the Mexicans are Americanized, but make no mistake, NYC has the best and most variety.

Is it houses in NYC or is all ugly ass brick buildings? :ohhh:

Manhattan doesn't really have houses until you get Uptown (Harlem and up) and Brookyln, Queens, SI, etc have tons of houses and tend to get more suburban, though Brooklyn is still heavily urban/ industrial

Clubs? Check out Meatpacking and Uptown clubs but honestly go to Downtown Bars and a lot Hotels have popping parties
Hotel? I can't help you with that but use Yelp or something and check hotels out with tons of reviews
sightseeing? Don't visit tourist attractions, fukk Time Sq. Hop on the subway and just get randomly lost and wander around for a bit, as long you have a cellphone map service. Other than that, Dykeman, Chinatown, Greenpoint, 5 points, Governor's Island, Soho/ West Village, LES/ Alphabet City, Bed Stuy

The MOMA is a REALLY good museum and I highly recommend you check it out.

Don't go to NYC and act like it's a shopping mall or a museum, all in amazement. We hate tourist who walk slow and have to look at every damn thing. Just go out on foot and get into random shyt.

:krs: look at this clown. now you a NYer?:stopitslime:

For hotels I always use Priceline bid your own price, get a nice 4 star in times square for about 150 around that time, if not go for midtown east since its quieter.

If you want a cheaper option, there are a lot of hotels popping up in chinatown, there's a new wyndham hotel in chinatown, and a holiday inn.

For clubs I prefer the culture club in midtown east, it's older music but a good crowd, webster hall is always pretty cool especially if you're from out of town. Latin quarters is pretty cool if you like a smaller venue with spanish music, but personally the best clubs are west indian clubs in BK and Queens. m-15 lounge right by chinatown is pretty cool, 90s music, r&b/hip hop.

For bars, you can't beat LES, williamsburg, east/west village, i like going bar hopping when it's the afternoon time when they all got good specials since there's tons of bars in a small area.

For shopping, depends on what you like, but personally i like century 21 in downtown manhattan or the one in queens, they got pretty much everything and is much cheaper than other places, then there's 5th ave for the expensive stuff and Soho for the trendier stuff

I guess you can do the typical tourist stuff, central park, times square, ferry rides, chinatown, etc. NYC is all about the different culture so i would go to some ethnic neighborhoods to get a taste of the world at really cheap prices and queens is definitely the place for that.
