I'm here brehs. Thanks to all who replied. A few remarks so far:
Pros:
1) Not hot at all. It's been warm, but you don't get the muggy heat you get in the Caribbean. Not sure if because of the elevation (it seems Monterrey is in a valley surrounded by mountains), or lack of a large body of water nearby to cause humidity.
2) You can't miss the mountains. No matter where you turn, you see mountains, it's a naturally picturesque city.
3) People are very friendly. Don't buy into all the negative hype. People are here in my neighborhood jogging at night, I ask for help and the locals were cool. The thing I respect most about Mexicans is I get treated normally, as opposed to Asia where I was the abominable snowman everywhere I went
4) There are some bad bishes here, and I mean BAD. There are two types I find attractive, one is the lighter skinned mestizo/Euro types with the long legs, and the other are the copper toned Indian girls with Chinese eyes, and some of them be THICK AZ HELL! Like with black girl curves, I'm not talkin' fat bishes.
5) A HUGE portion of the people are educated, way more so than in the USA it seems.
6) If you're looking to do business in any manufacturing sector, you'll find what you need. The whole northeastern section of Monterry (Apodaca, Guadalupe, etc) is almost 100% factory. If you're coming to the airport from the city all you see is factories on the way in. Definitely a city on the rise.
7) Pollo Loco
Cons:
1) People are most definitely shook. When I asked the driver's name on the way from the airport, he gave me the
face at first. I called a delivery place at 8PM and they were like f*ck that, it's dark nikka, call us tomorrow, we out. I get the impression the city is fine, but everybody is on edge because of the situation with the wars going on and the mass killings. With that said, there isn't one neighborhood in Monterrey you can't drive through, even the bad ones like Juarez for example. I can't say the same for a lot of the major cities in the US.
2) Women. Mexican women are VERY hit or miss. Not too many in betweens. Most are
And the flabby ones are not f*ckable by any means. A lot of bishes here have humpty dumpty bodies
I'd say 2 out of 10 are f*ckable tops from what I've seen so far. But that 20% is
status
3) Cops with trigger fingers. Gotta walk cool around here, because security/cops don't carry guns in their holsters, they carry it with their trigger finger ready to pull. It's gets annoying sometime when 5-6 dudes with loaded rifles with the safety off lookin' at you like
Still not as bad as Colombia was when I went there though, cops were walkin' around strapped up for World War 3.
So far so cool, took a few pics:
Mountains:
^^^This one is called "Cerro de la Silla" which literally means "Saddle Mountain" There are two peaks in the mountain that kind of form a shape similar to a horse saddle.
^^The last two are from the Casino Royale. There was a huge massacre here a few years ago, in the second photo you can see the crosses made to remember the victims. Sh*t is crazy because it is in the heart of the city basically. It would be like somebody running up in the Sears Tower (I refuse to call it Willis
) or the Empire State Building in NYC. To do that in broad daylight requires a lot of balls, straight up.
I'll try to take more photos. Main thing I wanted to show y'all is don't be afraid to go somewhere, and don't let the news dictate your opinion.
